Coming off a push with Minnesota yesterday. Today begins the first of four Game 5's as all four series are currently tied at 2-2. Game 5 is perhaps the most crucial game in any best of seven series as the winner of these games more often than not ends up winning the series. Therefore, these games tend to be highly intense and competitive as both teams normally give all that they have to try and secure the series edge. With that in mind, I have looked at the current lines for all four games and am not particularly comfortable with any of them at the moment. At this point, I may pass all of them. The only one that I have a lean on is tomorrow with Minnesota. As I have mentioned, I wish to remain comfortable and selective before releasing any play to the forum. Thus, I will be passing tonight's game between San Antonio and Los Angeles. Most likely, I will pass all Game 5's and hopefully find some edges for Game 6, but if I should become more comfortable with Minnesota, I will release it tomorrow. I wanted to inform you of my thoughts and although I know that some of you may be disappointed, I hope you understand my desire to stay the course and remain selective for all of us. My updated record is shown below including results from last night. Continued best of luck throughout the playoffs.

Overall Unit Record YTD: (182-147.5)(+34.5) 5*(1-0)(+5.0) 3*(10-6)(+10.2) 1*(147-115-7)(+19.3)
Overall W/L Record YTD: (158-121-7) 56.63%

NBA Regular Season Final Record YTD: (17-12-2)(+5.8)
NBA Playoff Record YTD: (8-7-2)(+0.3)

Plays are rated 1*-5*

Good Luck All.

OldManTed,

I think I will play SA first 1/2 since the Lakers don't really start playing until the third quarter.

Any opinion?

It is extremely rare for me to make a first half play. I prefer to watch the game develop and then look for value for the second half and even then, half time plays are few and far between for me. That being said, certainly in this series, the Lakers have started slowly in the first half of each game and then played at another level in the third quarter. In Game 3, the Spurs led by 10 at half in L.A. as they did make adjustments to the Laker trapping defense of Parker and Duncan by passing out to Ginobli and Turkolou in the first half. Expect them to continue that plan and see how the Lakers adjust. Best of luck to you tonight.

Ted, the reason I value your picks is because you are so selective. Will be looking forward to your return.

I saw your 5 sportsbook picks on the main forum .These are your top five?I respect your opinion thanks!

Well respected, Ted! I glad your not one of them that likes to force a win. You know what I mean? And I like that lean on Minny. I was hoping and knew that that was going to be the play you were anticipating to post! Thank you much!

Mr. Leisure:

Thank you. It is good to hear that you are not disappointed in the no play tonight. Realize it is a big game and every one wants to play it but I've been in this business too long to know that it's not about action but about positive cash flow and having proper money management and discipline. I can make an argument for either side tonight as well as every game this weekend, hence the decision to be cautious. After all the Game 5's are complete, four of these teams will be facing elimination and either playing at home or on the road in Game 6. This should provide some opportunity for us.

As to your question regarding the offshore sportsbooks, yes, these are my top five for various reasons but the most important being security. I have many, many other accounts at what I consider the next tier of sportsbooks for various other reasons. Each book presents different options and different levels of security. The latter being the most important aspect in my opinion.

Thank you. Appreciate your respect. Feel it has to be earned and not just given. As I commented above to Mr. Leisure, this business is about building a bankroll through hard work, being selective, having proper money management skills, and being disciplined. It can be difficult at times, but over the long haul, can be very rewarding. As for Minnesota, there is a better then 50% chance that I may upgrade the Wolves to a release tomorrow. Hopefully, the line won't move up between now and then. Best of luck with your plays throughout the playoffs.

The Rose Bowl. 5* on USC over Michigan. These plays are extremely rare for me and usually during football season. At most, approximately 5 or 6 during an entire year.
