Anyone seen Harris or Coaches? AP doesn't factor into the BCS of course, but this isn't a good sign for Texas.

Texas needed/needs to somehow hold on to a higher human poll standing than OU today so they could try and beat A&M next week by a hundred and somehow hold off OU. Now OU can't be overtaken by Texas in the AP. How can OU lose ground by winning on the road at the #11 team while Texas faces a disastrous, unranked team at home? They can't. All OU needs to do is beat Okie Lite now, it doesn't even need to be "impressive".

It was obvious OU was going to end higher than Texas in the BCS, even if they don't end up higher this week. After beating OK St next week OU will pass Texas and OU will be on their way to the title game, barring a loss to Mizzou.

Right, I already said all of that yesterday much to the dismay of Texas fans here, but we still need to take it one step at a time.

And again, the AP does NOT factor into the BCS calculations, but this is a very bad omen for Texas overall.

If OU leaps Texas in the Harris and Coaches today, Texas is screwed even before next week's results. The only way Texas can hold on to an overall BCS lead today is if they hold on to a Harris and Coaches lead this week. If they can't, they're done. OU would only have to beat Okie Lite by a point.

While I truly believe Oklahoma is double digits better than Texas, if they get a chance to get to the title game over Texas, it will be further proof that we need a playoff. Texas would have a legitimate gripe as to why they were screwed out.

Regardless of yesterday's loss Texas Tech also has a gripe as they all beat each other yet a system decides who goes over what happened on the field.

OU will probably leap Texas in the Coaches this week too since Texas only had a 17 point lead over OU in the Coaches going into this week.

OU might not leap Texas in the Harris though since Texas had a 101 point lead there, we'll have to see.

A split Coaches and Harris situation after this week would be VERY interesting.

I knew it would happen. I've never seen anything more screwed up than this for a long time.

Actually, Ok State has a much better shot of beating the squatters in Stillwater than Mizzou does. Don't count your chickens......:nono5:

These polls are ridiculous. Texas beat OU straight up, but somehow OU is "better". Give us a playoff system and put away this beauty pageant bullsh1tt.

How can you say OU is better than Texas since Texas BEAT OU in Dallas

Looks like short term memory to me.

Looks like short term memory to me.

I watched the game & saw it with my own two eyes. Oklahoma was clearly the better team & a few bad calls & a questionable 4th down gamble is the only reason you won. Selective memory is those who don't like to mention the wrong calls that kept drives alive which resulted in points you didn't deserve.

Yes, they won on the scoreboard but they were not the better team. However even with saying that, it is unfair if they win on the scoreboard but end up the losers overall. It shows how inept the system truly is. It is to the point that playing is not good enough to actually determine things.

just plain stupidity from a smart guy.

neutral field 45-35

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/boxscore?gid=200810110024 - here is a link since apparently you forgot.

if beating the team is not enough to say that they are better then WHAT THE FUCK CAN YOU DO?

As I said, the score is not indicative of how the game really was. Texas did benefit on a number of calls that led to multiple scoring drives continued which would have been over. We are talking over 10 points worth.

If they get overlooked, it would be unfair as they "won" but I don't believe they are better than Oklahoma.

While many won't want to hear it, Texas Tech has just as much of an argument. All lost 1 time if Oklahoma wins next week. Why should one win count more than others. If Oklahoma loses next week, I wouldn't be surprised if Texas Tech ends up getting screwed although they beat Texas.

Either way the entire system is complete bullshit.
