i'm sure opening for me will be 7, which will also be at least 1-3 points low by game time.

agreed. Its funny that a team can play perfect all year, but if they have 1 bad game everyone wants to jump off the bandwagon. The loss should help stoops motivate his team.

This is the same Oklahoma team that beat a horrible Alabama team by 7 right? Hopefully everyone taking OU will push the line to around 10, that makes for a much better money line.

Personally, i am not sold on LSU's defense being an absolute powerhouse. Granted they were ranked first this year. But I think that had more to do with the SEC having very little firepower this year. The only great QB they faced was Manning. The fact that georgia is second in the nation in PPG behind LSU on defense further proves the point that maybe the offense in the SEC was down this year.

Don't get me wrong, LSU has a very very good defense. One of the best in the nation. However, i dont see it as a shutdown defense. And i definitely see oklahoma being able to move the ball on them.

I also see everyone jumping on the points after the media spends the next 4 weeks telling us taht oklahoma doesnt deserve to be in the game. I also expect the sooners to get motivated by the talk from everyone that they arent as good as everyone first thought.

WHAT??

The Tigers played nine games on national television, so you simply must not have been watching.....because there is no way you would think of them as "not a shut-down type defense" if you have been watching them. Trust me, they are easily the best defense in the country this year.

The only great QB they faced was Manning? No offense but Leak is going to be a great one & played pretty damn well for being a true freshman.

LSU has the best defense in the country bar none.

Leak may become great, but he is not great yet. He averaged under 200 ypg passing and had 14tds with 10 ints. Not exactly Jason White's numbers.

LSU, i am doubting what they accomplished and the numbers their defense put up. They definitely shut down all the teams they faced. I just don't think they faced an offense as potent as the oklahoma offense. and they DEFINITELY have not faced a team with as good of an offense AND defense as the sooners. Georgia has a very good defense, but no running game and only an average QB.

Again, i am not saying they didnt play great this year. I just dont think they were challenged as much as they will be challenged by the sooners. Let them prove me wrong on January 4th.

Look who Jason White put those #'s up against. When they played a good defense, Oklahoma got bitchslapped.

Oklahoma played a bunch of pathetic defenses.

sooners did not play many great defenses, but when they did White went 17-21 for 4tds and no INT's against one of the best pass defenses in texas.

While the game will be a semi-home game for LSU, playing in a dome under controlled conditions certainly helps the spread open sooner offense.

all i keep seeing is primetime make a case for okla and then chipmaker come back with lsu. Enough with the going back and forth. Not just in this thread but everytime I read a thread its the same things over and over again.

let me clarify i haven't capped these two enuff to make a play one way or another. i will, but right now i am guessing that 6 or less should be a good number -- i think by game time the number will be 8 or better -- thus a very nice possiblity for a middle and/or strong buyback if lsu caps out stronger.

i will give lsu this -- there def line is better than oklahoma's. but okie has the better lb's and a little better d'backs.

i also think lsu has one hell of a offense -- mauck is very capable experienced -- and have a slew of talented wideouts!!! will be reading a lot on this game in the coming weeks looking for an angle.

LSU Fans>>>>

Wait till this game hits +9 or +10 and UNLOAD ON LSU. The squares will be all over OK-6 and the line will only go up.

Again....Take LSU, but wait for the points!!! They'll come. LSU CAN beat OK. TAKE THE POINTS!

David Greene an "average QB"??? He was SEC player of the year last year and a preseason Hiesman hopeful. Yes, his stats aren't that impressive this year but Greene didn't have a single returning starter on the OL.... He's been rushed or sacked so many times it's not funny, but dont take that out on D.G.

While GA isn't a great team, they are a very GOOD team. What LSU did to them was sick....I just can't believe that there are people out there who don't think that LSU doesn't belong in the national championship; LSU is the best team in the country and they very well just might win it all.

Who said they dont belong in the national championship game? not me. I just think oklahoma will cover. I have my reasons. If LSu was a sure winner they would be favored by 20. but since vegas made oklahoma 6 point favorites i am sure there are 1 or 2 reasons why oklahoma will beat LSU. Personally, i think both oklahoma and LSU are better than USC. So i am one of the few people who are happy with the BCS outcome.
