anybody seethe finish of the ok-kansas game 1st down on the 10 yard line minute half to go leading 34-7 or something like that just under spread. so we go for a tochdown to cover spread. amount of differance does not matter in the bcs standings. So why else would they go for a t.d.? I had no action on game thought it unusual to say the least. think we have had thisdiscussion before.

Heart22,
I posted earlier this week in someone's KU/Oklahoma thread about Stoop possibly adding a late TD if it were available. Several times this year they could have added OBTW TD's opting instead to run the clock out. When the BCS polls came out on Monday, Stoops was VISIBLY upset because OU was #2 in all the polls but in the BCS they were #3 behind Miami. During several interviews LW he mentioned that maybe his scores were not more widespread that perhaps that figured into the BCS having them behind Miami...Hence if he had an opportunity to score late to make the score more impressive, he would. That's why they threw a TD Pass with :36 on the clock. Making the score look more impressive.

I had the UNDER 49.5 - which was solid until Kansas had those two turnovers in the 2nd half that led to 14 points AND of course the bush league passing with 30 seconds left. I know it was to impress the pollsters but I thought he'd let Mangino get a pass here.

OU-Kansas

It looks to me like the BCS standings has left a bad taste in Bob Stoops mouth. I'm sure since Stoops and Mangino are good friends the talk about padding last minute points have come up once or twice in their phone conversations. And I'm pretty sure that even though it was his team that lost, that Mangino understands Stoops situation. I think he also knows at this point in the season Stoops would run the points up on his own brother if he had to. To tell you the truth all of this point spread worry may not be necessary. OU faces 2 top 20 teams in the next 2 weeks. I'm hearing from the so-called BCS experts that if OU takes care of business they're going to slip in to the number 2 slot for good behind USC. :aktion033
