I cant answer the others but using Bose and reasonably priced in the same sentance means you havent started looking yet...Bose is good stuff but horribly overpriced...

Sign up for "Consumer Reports" the online version cost around $20 per annum and it will pay for its self many times over.

Gotta go with Punter on this one. We all could go on and on about the difference of spec's, pixel count, other features, brand name, and most important price.

So people it's almost as debatable as politics. lol. It all depends what you're personally looking for.

Here's a great quick comparison. CNET is a great tech/consumer site to go to for all things electronic.

For mine? I have 2 of em. A Pioneer Elite downstairs and a Sony upstairs. Both plasmas. Personal taste for me nothing more. Didn't really look into getting LCD's.

I know, I'm looking for a great system that costs less.

I love my Samsung 6 series LCD:103631605. I've been in the TV field for the last 5 years and I will repeat a million times, "your LCD/PLASMA will ONLY be as good as your feed and most important, calibration." :howdy:

IMHO - Sony Bravia has the best picture (LCD) but you'll pay a higher price. Picture is sweet though. If you want something LCD that is pretty close but less money, look at the Samsungs.

This is what we went with.

1st my son, much more of a Tech geek than me researches it and comes with this.

2nd, we go to CircuitCity and the associate recommends this TV based on what we're looking for

3rd, the Best Buy guy, somebody who really knew what he was talking about (at least it appeared so to me), really loved this TV.

Samsung Series 6, 46 incher with 120mz plus all the other bells and whistles.:103631605

Thanks for all your help guys.

Samsung LCD's are great- nice buy. Plasma TV's are already being phased out, but you'll find great deals out there. If you buy plasma, stick with Panasonic. I bought 2 42" Panny plasmas this summer for about $515 a piece and resold one for $675- recently Cosco has had this same tv on sale for $630.

For those still looking- the prices have been coming down lately, check out fatwallet once a day or so and you'll find a great deal.
