OU was scheduled to depart at 2:45 p.m. Central time (3:45 EST) on Friday but was delayed because the plane they were supposed to ride in was Late.

United sent a replacement plane for that Late Plane but then that plane broke so United sent another Plane but then a mechanical issue on that plane caused a further delay. United dispatched a 3rd Plane but that plane also broke.

The Sooners finally took off at 11 p.m Central Time (Midnight Eastern), after being stranded at the Airport for 8 hours and 15 minutes.

According to KWTC’s Dean Blevins, it took four planes to eventually get the Sooners off the ground. Eventually, around midnight, the team took off and landed at 12:42 a.m. then pulled in to the hotel somewhere between 1:30 and 2 a.m.

The Sooners are scheduled to play the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. ET, less than 15 hours after landing in Kansas.

I posted something similar about WVA @ Baylor. I think this crap matters more than people think it does. You cannot be sleep walking in the 1st quarter at someone else's house. You blink and you are in a huge deficit and things can get out of hand.

The jet-age has allowed college football (all sports actually) to schedule just about anywhere they want to play.....Along with those logistics resolved, comes
the potential for mechanical issues.....It looks like United sent the U of O a few "duds" for the trip to Manhattan.....scary. I remember the Evansville/Marshall
College tragedies years back when those team planes crashed wiping-out all on board.

Head over to Campus see if you can score a Part-Time job with the team GoSooners co-ordinating getting the Team stranded in the Airport for 8 hours+ before each game. This worked very very well this week GoSooners maybe we're onto something here. With Texas Tech coming in no need for travel so maybe just having the Team hang out at The Bus Station Friday Night after dinner until about 2 AM would produce a result similar to that which we saw this week GoS. I'm sure you'll agree this idea is a good one GoSooners and definitely worth a shot.
