Banned4Life <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> It isn't McNabb that is overrated. It's their defense <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Sorry Banned, but you have that exactly backwards.....It's the Philly defense that has carried the Eagles the last few years, definitely not McNabb. All I can say is Philly better find an offense fast, because they are in the exact same boat my Bucs were for years.....A great defense, but no offense until they finally brought Brad Johnson and Gruden in....If they dont find it soon, that fine defense will have gone to waste because it wont last forever......

Rush Limbaugh lost weight by using speed, then got hooked on Vicodin. The guy is a joke, never should have been on a football show. Just because the Eagles didn't win the Super Bowl doesn't make what the clown said right or wrong. If Carolina wins the Super Bowl, no one will say Jake Delhomme is the best quarterback in the league. The media don't promote black quarterbacks any more than they promote white linebackers. I get a kick out of the fact Limbaugh got his ass canned four months ago and all of a sudden with the Eagles losing--thank god--all the rednecks are coming out of the woodwork praising Limbaugh as being correct. Give us a break.

Sorry. I just saw so many threads like this one. All power to Limbaugh for being the first conserative talk show host in a market that is now flooded with them. But he is the biggest media person there is and he's always harping on the media this, the media that. OK, I feel better.

mcnabb played like crap. take away the 4th and 26 what has he given us? nothing. its no ones fault other than phillys that gave him that silly contract. black or white you have a tough time argueing him into the top 5 for QB's. so when all the top QB's of 03 happen to be white, why does anyone yap mcnabbs name with his sorry play?! rush has a point. he was just ahead of his time. if you had a problem with what rush said ur just racist. if rush was black and he said it, you wouldnt have anything to say. you'd just agree. make me dinner.

McNabb: Not the most situationally aware fellow...

He caught a lot of heat last year for not knowing how NFL ties work, though he's not the only one -- heck, even intelligent ex-quarterbacks-turned-announcers get it wrong from time to time. But Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb(notes) must carry the grief alone for his clock-butchering boo-boo in his team's 13-9 loss to the Oakland Raiders.
Down 10-3 with 27 seconds left in the first half, McNabb went to the line and called a time out after deciding that he didn't like what he saw on the Raiders' side of the ball. Problem was, the Eagles had already used their customary three time-outs in the half, and no amount of bargaining could get them another one. Philly was busted for delay of game, the ball was pushed back from the Oakland 15 to the Oakland 20, McNabb took a Richard Seymour(notes) sack on the next play, and the Eagles had to settle for a field goal. Had the Eagles scored a touchdown and kicked the extra point in that drive, they would have had the points needed to tie the Raiders.
Of course, McNabb wasn't the only one at fault. He might have had a few other things going on, what with left tackle Jason Peters(notes) suffering a knee injury and giving way to King Dunlap(notes) (who???). And he might have expected that Andy Reid, his beloved head coach, would have left Mac5 a time out late in the half instead of calling two on the previous drive -- both after incomplete passes (which kill the clock, anyway). Of course, when it comes to clock management, Reid won't make anyone's top ten list.
Whatever bedeviled McNabb on that particular occasion, he'd best get over it -- Peters is scheduled for an MRI today, and Reid isn't going to get any more prudent with the clock. The Eagles have an extra day this week before they face the Redskins on Monday Night Football, and they certainly don't want to be the team with the least amount of preparation and awareness in THAT particular matchup. After all, the Redskins have their own history with timeouts.

Richard Seymour...unless Brees wins the Super Bowl this guy should be the MVP this year. He is truly playing lights out, a 1 man defense damn near.......
