If you want others to read your posts, I'm telling you this for your benefit and to enhance all our viewing experiences here at the Rx.

You should keep your posts to no more than two or three paragraphs, with a few exceptions. Most posts should be no longer than one paragraph.

try to use your own words when possible, say more with less.

When you copy and paste long drawn out articles consisting of thousands of words, I assure you nobody is reading your post. Nobody

Your own words, a link, maybe paste part of the story you want to emphasize, otherwise you're simply wasting your time. IMHO.

I'm not trying to offend anybody, sorry if I have.

tell me you don't scroll through long copy & paste posts

Never ever. I read first paragraph and keep going a little further if interesting. Very rarely do I read a full article, specially the ones posted here in Politics.

I don't think they have this same issue in the other Rx forums, I have to believe it's a political thing.

I never read copy/paste articles that are more than 600 words. The people who post the multi-thousand word items only do so because they know full well that few people will click a hyperlink. What they miss is that most people just scroll right past any Pasted item of more than 600 or so words.

----

I also rarely watch a Youtube video unless it's a true "news" item, a musical artist I enjoy or a potential comedy clip.

If it's any kind of Opinion on any political topic, I give it a pass.

I would write more, but I'm on my fourth paragraph and will come back later.

there may be a lot of truth in that statement, maybe I simply don't find the topic of those 1,000 word paste jobs interesting.

Maybe it's me, but I believe there are many that agree with me.

I'm the same, except for Roadreeler's "My Immigration" thread. What's posted in there is so enthralling once I start reading I can't stop until the end, at which time I "take action" and harangue all my representatives.

Point to remember - Blogging about lost wallets and how great UCONN basketball usually results in GOLD.

that's called fraternizing, which I don't mind at all. A change in pace.

BTW: what do you think about long cut & paste posts?

Excluding the trading of stock and investment threads which are niche subjects and are of value. It seems that threads on fags, Lesbos, breast implants, drugs, predictions, in your face rants and the always popular conspiracies are a guaranteed winner. I’m not sure what that says about the posters here, just an observation.

I think I should point out that I never said anything about thread topics, only complained about frequently posting long cut & paste posts.

Point taken. I would like to point out that the length of a cut and paste is not important to me, it’s the subject that matters. :toast:

I will make a concerted effort to pare down the long cut & pastes.

I'm always willing to take constructive criticism.

Peace out.

Oh we're in agreement if you can't post your own thoughts or even summarize what the article is about whats the point...of course there will always be those posters like Joe C or Tocco05 or a few other posters who get paid to post articles to boost Link Backs and help build other websites google rankings
