Obama preached and crowed about change but his recent appointments & recent actions show otherwise. He has already backed away from some campaign promises without even taking office. I know he's not in office yet but the man seems more like a puppet (like Bush) if anything. Yeah yeah I know I know, all politicians are aren't they? Where's the new, fresh blood and ideas he promised?

hes going to govern from the center with a lean to the left. the appointments arn't a big deal. it's how he uses the appointments compared to how bush used his is how you can tell if it'll work or not.

My problem is that he's not holding up to what he promised....already! Shit Clinton should just serve a 3rd term at this rate. On a serious note, I wasn't expecting to much from Obama (still better than McLame) but he has me doing this :think2: right now. He was suppose to clear the chess board and start with new chess pieces instead he just recycled the old ones with his United Colors of Benetton cabinet. I see what he's trying to do (or rather the people pulling the strings who are telling him what to do) but it lame. All he did is kept in the insiders...well inside to further fuck shit up.

i dont think you understand it. it has to do with how he governs his appointments. he wanted experienced people in those positions. how he uses and governs those people though will determine whether or not its the change he's been talking about.

It seems to me that Obama is putting people who he thinks are strong minds and who wont shy away from discussing their ideas, even when there are arguments. He is not just appointing "yes-men" (see Bush with all of his generals.... he fired the ones who didnt agree with him). Tell me, what more do you want from his appointments? A bunch of no names who have no experience?

Oh and to the guy who thinks appointments don't matter: You are completely and utterly wrong. The best quality of a leader is putting intelligent people around him(/her). A good leader will use these people and make decisions as a team rather than just one person dictating. I can honestly say that I have heard only encouraging things from the Obama team. (And this is coming from a guy who doesn't even like Hillary Clinton)

Obama, like Bush, McCain, and Clinton are nothing but puppets and run absolutley nothing. The only change is his skin. Nothing will change. He will continue with the agenda.

R, I tried in vain to think of a snappy rebuttal, but you're too correct to counter on this one

He should just appoint Colin Powell to something & then Powell can steer him right & be President from the back seat.
