normally, a site like youtube is filled with bullshit homemade videos that serve no purpose and show how much time some people have on their hands.
but in this case, it provides an opportunity for the country to see the truth about this whole oj mayo incident.
i have to admit, when i heard the story about this kid bumping the referee, i thought he was just another punk with a big head.
but after reading adrian wojanarski's article on yahoo and him mentioning that there was video of the incident, i went to youtube and search for it.
and you know what?
you gotta be shittin me.
this clip is perfect proof that there ARE referees out there who are simply trying to make a name for themselves.
for starters, mayo walking with the ball after the dunk should be a delay of game foul at most. and maybe, MAYBE you can make a case for the first technical.
but watch the ref go out of his way to look for a reason to T him up a second time and eject him. he had the whistle in his mouth just waiting to blow it and kick the kid out.
then, the completely laughable flop after mayo approached him from behind after getting tossed.
like i said, when i originally heard the story i thought mayo was just another punk high schooler who thinks hes the shit.
and maybe thats the case off the court.
but this incident was an absolute joke and a perfect example of a ref that is went out of his way to become 'the story'.
