The Buckeyes QB was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired early this morning, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy (first reported by ElevenWarriors). Barrett recently beat out Cardale Jones for the starting job. No. 1-ranked Ohio State is off this week.

wow if this is true will Urban suspend him for the season

Ha. urban will do as little as he absolutely has too. Look at his track record with troubles at Florida. He does everything he can to keep it in house singe doesn't have to discipline

Did he use up all his "get out of jail free" cards already? I'm surprised I didn't hear Urban Meyer's "Fuuuuuucccckkkk" all the way here in Wisconsin when he got that phone call in the middle of the night.

let's see if that actually happens. if it's Urban, he'll suspend him half a game against Minnesota...or perhaps Illinois after Barrett appeals the half game suspension.

They should toss him in the clink

Just kidding about the clink....they said on ESPN that he was just barely over the legal limit. Not sure what dui BAC is in Ohio, but that could really mean he had a couple of drinks....

also why it's so tough with the whole "buzzed driving is drunk driving" hard to not say "I can drive I've only had a couple beers" when really you're blowing over the legal limit

I'm an criminal defense attorney here in Ohio and I handle tons of ovi's. Legal limit is .08, which is like you said, a
few beers. However, if you aren't 21, the legal limit is .02. So he can be charged with either a regular ovi or an
underage OVI, along with under age consumption of alcohol.
He should hire me I'd get this case tossed in a minute. ?

Did anyone really think this would be a big thing? Meyer will probably have the officer fired. He might be a good coach but he is scum when it comes to morals.

I guess i should have have looked into it....i must have been off when thinking....thought Barrett was red shirt junior and thus at least 21...must have misplaced in my brain how old he was

definitly a stupid thing to do. But 99.9 % of college students have all done the same thing. .08 is just 2 beers in 1hr.
suspend him for a game and go on. it is not like he did drugs or beat his girlfriend. i know he is a Buckeye so this will get so blown out of the
water. Time for Cardale to step in again.

The problem isn't the kid barely being over the limit, which is a crock of shit in itself because he isn't 21 so he is way over the limit actually. The bigger problem here is that Urbs just went on a big book tour where he preached morals and how well behaved his team was last year. Hell he basically said he would've kicked Jamies Winston off the team for stealing crab legs and now a week later the shoe is on the other foot and he will basically do nothing to his star qb. And FYI drunk driving is alot worse then shop lifting. The fact is if you look at his tenure at UF it comes down to who you are. If your Carlos Dunlop and are so drunk you fall asleep at a red light you miss one game. If your a backup that never sees the field, Frankie Hammond, and you get a DUI you get your schorlorship pulled.

2beers in an hour is .08 only if you are a 100 lb girl. JT at 225 would take about 6 beers in an hour to get to .08
