Locksley was rumored big-time to UF last off-season.....then Saban stepped in and offered him a on-field position. I think there was a gentleman's agreement that Locksley was next in line for the OC job. Just my opinion.

I'm curious to see what Alabama's staff salaries are once it's announced. I have to say, this is probably Saban's most unimpressive staff in 11+ years. I like that he removed the RB coach - but it's still a ruthless move by Saban.

WTF is Harbaugh thinking hiring Butters (McElwain)?? The guy is a cancer and Peter-Principled at UF. Michigan is in most pre-season Top 10's, they return a lot of talent. But I don't see it (that ranking). I'm not sure how much longer he lasts in Ann Arbor...

unimpressive? wow, i love it. influx of youth...Gattis one of top recruiters in nation, Kuligowski 44 YO and just coached a dline top 3 in sacks and TFL with lesser talent than bama plus recruits FL and developed first rounders for Missouri, Enos 49 YO been a HC and an OC plus knows SEC, Golding young guy that took UTSA from 101st to top 10 in defense.

i have some questions on Locksley but with Gattis and especially Enos & Pannunzio (both former HC) helping with game plan I think it's a big upgrade over Daboll and Sark. Lupoi been around long enough to take over well for Pruitt but you can't upgrade over Pruitt unless you hire Venables so that was always going to be some downgrade

Love the staff...won't be finishing outside the top 5 in recruiting next year with this group and tons of great experience and knowledge of SEC. pretty much everything the more recent hires (that are now gone) did not bring to Bama

Tide Saban is a young 66 imo and may coach another 10 years if he wants in his current position but I think 5 is a more realistic number. Do you think he will groom his successor for when that time comes or will the University go outside of his staff for a replacement in your opinion? I think it will be really interesting when the time comes who they replace the greatest coach of all time with.

Don't get butt-hurt, it's just an opinion. You may be impressed, wearing your Bama sunglasses, but he's had a huge turnover.....and Saban even admitted as such (recent comments on how the staff turnover impacted the recruit class). Hell, Saban could plug Jim McElwain's dog in at OC and still win (reference to McElwain's comments at his opening UF press conference). But, this staff is not as impressive as many of his other 11 staffs....starting w/ his OC.

i give him 4 or 5. he will see the 2017 recruiting class through and then probably hang it up. they might go after Dabo to return home but i prefer they promote an internal...perhaps Lupoi by that time, maybe Gattis, Enos? I think Ansley, the guy that just joined the Raiders, can become a really special coach so that would be another option for 2022/23/24 time frame

(still confused by the seemingly normal fella, coachcb, coming at me with the butt-hurt shit. I couldn't give a shit less what he, or anyone else thinks about the Tide staff i was explaining what I LIKED about it. fucking morons around here lately)

I'm sorry. The "head scratch" emoji and the "unimpressive, wow" comment - in my interpretation indicated you thought my comments were out of line/crazy/inappropriate. And for what it's worth, I'm not sure about the other 'people around here', but I'm perfectly fine....
