In the last 26 million years or so, the Earth has been almost uniformly covered in ice. THe ice ages last for millions of years; the periods in between (such as we are living in now) typically last less than 250,000 years at a time. Although the jury is very much hung on the global warming issue (in fact, those old enough to remember might recall that in the 60's and 70's it was "global cooling" everyone was worried about, with all the same bullshit psuedo-science to back it up that the global warming crowd uses today) frankly, if it staves off a civilisation-ending ice age from setting in, I say heat this sucker up until I get a tan between the front door and the car. I'll get some SPF-9,000 and not worry about it, thanks.

We pretty much agree on the issue.

You leftist knew better than to walk into a buzzsaw, very good.

The point is the hottest day in Rome since 1782 proves global warming does not exist. The weather patterns work in a cycle.

THE COMBUSTIBLE ENGINE WAS NOT AROUND IN 1782 and it was HOT as HELL THEN.

OK, schools out.

Proves? Are you slow?
It DOES NOT prove that Global Warming does exist or that it does not exist. It merely indicates that it was unusually warm.

Out,
Did you go the the Duyba WMD School of Deductive Reasoning & Logic?

Lander it proves that in 1782 it was hot as hell before combustible engines existed and now it's still hot as hell after many years of them existing. The leftist want us to drive go-carts to avoid global warming. Do you agree it makes no difference either way.

Out, I honestly don't know if Global Warming is true, but you statement clearly doesn't prove that it IS NOT true ...

... one could just as easily use your "evidence" to prove that temperatures are on the RISE ...

.. either way - FLAWWED LOGIC (as usual).

Lander,
Are you FUKIN brain dead? The weather in rome is hot now and was hot in 1782 before combustible engines, now the liberals want us to get rid of our SUVs because they claim they cause global warming, which is BULLSHIT. Point being, man made global warming caused by combustible engies is BULLSHIT. How hard is that to understand genius.

It's a record temperature that's all.
It proves nothing one way or the other.

Kaya,
It proves that with or without combustible engines it is hot in rome this time of the year.

THE COMBUSTIBLE ENGINE DID NOT EXIST IN 1782 when it was hot as hell in Rome.

Out,
Not that I particularly believe this "Global Warming" fret, but I'll play for the sake of debate.

Let's say that if Global Warming were indeed true that it might take thousands of years of damage to the ozone before a noticable change occured. This isn't so far fetched considering the ice age took hundreds of thousands of years. Change is "apparently" a slow process on this planet (relative to human life span), so if a 10 degree average difference were to result from 10,000 years of Global Warming then the average temperature increase would be .001 degrees Fareighneit PER YEAR ....

Out, would you notice this?
I certainly wouldn't.

Point is your little OPINIONS are NOT FACT.

Lander,
The point I'm making goes back 1000's of years. Some just don't want to except the truth. Phaedrus made a good point, in the 70's it was global cooling, it's all BULLSHIT.

Probably is bullshit.

I suspect the true motive is fuel preservation .. it's be a shame to have to kill thousands more of innocents should we run <low>

Actually I would say,

It proves that with or without combustible engines it is hot in rome this time of the year,

every 200 hundred years or so.

Basically not a very significant piece of data for either side of the arguement.

Kaya,
the data is similar if you go back a 1000 years when combustible engines were only a dream.

Kaya there are a record number of combustible engines out there and the US has a record freezing winter. Man-made global warming is complete BULLSHIT, if it exist at all.
