Ok it could just be me but it seems like as a bettor you have about a 30 day window after each team has played about 15 regular season games to make any money and then it all goes to shit.. Could be me but seems like NBA is just an unbeatable prop..

reason i hate betting on NBA is cause of the players that just don't give a fck sometimes, can't even count the # of times teams have shit the bed and given up huge leads this season - at least in college everyone is trying their hardest to prove their worth

Do teams "give up leads", or do teams "catch up when down"?

Nice rule of thumb when forecasting sports is to remember that there's two teams on the field/floor.

NBA is likely the easiest sport to handicap since it is so strongly actuarial; there are so many games each year and the general strength of most teams does not take a huge leap up/down in just one year.

But the very busy schedule also can be an impediment for those who like to play too much without doing their own research and work.

I think baseball is the easiest sport to cap - all the stats are there, and the real focus is the pitcher and batter statistics. In ANY basketball game, you're at the whim of the coach and how the players feel day after day, which is strenuous and constant. Good cappers can read this stuff and make a pick, but I'll take baseball to predict a sports outcome any day.

Oh, and holidays do screwy things to all teams - which I'm still trying to get a bead on. In the NBA, I would expect more home wins at Christmas (who the hell wants to be on the road at Christmas???), and more games to be under than over. Look for under games tonight and tomorrow.
