From NFL.com

After a contentious and over a month-long falling-out between Cutler and new coach Josh McDaniels couldn’t be resolved, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen issued the following statement today:

“Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful. A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos. We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

The bad blood between the QB and McDaniels started in late February when word leaked that the new coach reportedly had discussed a deal that would have brought Matt Cassel to Denver and shipped out Cutler. McDaniels tutored Cassel in New England.

As a lifelong Broncos fan, this disappoints the f-ck out of me. Congrats Josh McF-ckingDaniels and Pat Bowlen you just lost a future hall of fame QB. I'm not denying that Cutler has been a little girl over the past month. But not in my lifetime do you try to get Matt Cassell over Jay Cutler. Not to mention the firing of the OC which was the only part of the team that was working. And the OC up and left to USC to be with Pete Carroll; smart move on his part. Now who is going to be behind center for the Broncos? Some scrub from this pathetic qb draft class this year or more likely a 40 year old wash up. If it were up to me, I'd tank this season for the opportunity to get Sammy Bradford next year. All in all, pathetic

thanks, i hadn't heard that news that is huge;

my prediction:
three way trade involving one of the cleveland qb's
e.g.
Detroit sends 1st pick overall and Ernie Sims to Cleveland and gets Cutler and (maybe denver TE from denver if it throws denver a 5th rounder) ; cleveland ships one of their qb's and its first rounder to denver;

it isn't guaranteed yet, but highly likely. i enjoy seeing these kind of big deals, though it sucks for denver fans.

teams are not anxious to get the first pick because they have to commit to something like $35 million guaranteed to an unproven talent....pretty big risk...

here is a rumor from an nfl.com and espn this dovetails with (john claytons report this morning )about mcdaniel's mentor charlie weis teaching brady quinn the offense in college that mcdaniels learned under weis in NEng.

Cleveland giving up brady quinn and shaun rogers and draft picks for cutler and scheffter

Denver will for sure try to shore up there front 7 in any trade and a run stuffing NT in Rogers isn't easy to grab in the draft

IMO Denver has to really like Kris Jenkins but I don't see the Jets wanting to give that up; but the jets have a lot of seat licenses to sell

I can't stand the Broncos so I hope you're right and the downward spiral continues. But Jay Cutler is a Fairy Princess, it's way too early to be calling for him in the NFL HOF. Talented prima donnas in the NFL rarely win conference or SB championships. I suspect that JC will end up without any SB rings. The jury's out on Cassell. But, at least he didn't need to change a tampon when the Patriots dumped him.

Cutler has a rocket arm. But as for a qb, his attitude sucks. This guy is a bad leader for his team. As far as I'm concerned he is damaged goods. In the end, the most important stat for a qb is win%. TD's and yards mean little next to wins.

That must be one of the dumbest statements I've heard in a while. A perfect example is Kyle Orton in 2005 I believe it was. He had a great winning percentage that season. And the typical blockhead response was that HE LED THEM, and FOUND WAYS TO WIN. I'm very sorry, but the Bears won DESPITE the fact the he was QB, and BECAUSE they had a monstrous defense, not because Kyle was some sort of leader. Same team that went to the Superbowl the following year with that defense yet a different QB. There's a reason Kyle Orton, who had the high and mighty win percentage for a while with the bears is now being trading for the guy with the Yards and the TD's. Because Cutler is an average at worst QB, and superstar at best while Orton is average at best, and below average usually. After a while your 60 QB rating will catch up to you and the defense won't be there to make you look like a superstar. Your response basically is saying that Jay Cutler is the only person responsible for wins and losses.:ohno:
