HERE ARE THE STANDINGS FOR THE CONTEST.....I WILL UPDATE THEM NIGHTLY, SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE STANDING AT ALL TIMES....WE WILL END THE FIRST ROUND, AFTER EACH TEAM HAS PLAYED ITS 20TH GAME.....THE TOP 8 SEEDS IN EACH CONFERENCE WILL ADVANCE TO THE PLAYOFFS.......

Perhaps now would be a good time to remind everyone of the rules. My main rules question is this one and most other players would want to know this as well. I assume that if we miss a game our team plays with no pick, then it is a loss right?

We just need that stated here beforehand. I guess we could just say that we could miss maybe 2 games and everyone play until we get to 22 games, but then that is probably too much to keep track of how many "passes" a player has

Guys I am not in the contest but just want to make sure you have all the bases covered.

Do you have a backup plan in case a game has NO LINE or is OFF THE BOARD?

there will always be a line somewhere. A wagerline or a vegas spot. We just need to decide where is the backup line coming from.

IF A GAME HAS NO LINE AT ALL, AND WE CANT FIND ONE ANYWHERE, THEN THAT GAME WOULD NOT COUNT...AND OBVIOUSLY BOTH PLAYERS WILL STILL GET THEIR 20 GAMES BEFORE THE 1ST ROUND ENDS...THATS WHY THE ROUND DOESNT END ON A CERTAIN DATE, BUT WHEN ALL PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED 20 GAMES......

You are good at that. I think what HTRC meant was what if a game doesnt have a line until late in the afternoon? I am a gambling degenerate and this site is my ONLY gambling website that I visit besides books, so this next problem wouldnt matter to me. But what happens if the line becomes available at like 5pm in the afternoon. Are the players then responsible for making a play on that line? We just need to clear up this rule with an OFFICIAL dime deadline so everyone knows when to check for updated lines if necc and then they dont have to pwrry about checking every hour to see if one is available. I really do like the idea of getting like 2 or 3 passes during the first 20 games. Each player could keep track of his passes on his own and if there is any question later, then we can check past threads.

Here's the problem with counting it as a loss if a player doesn't make a selection on a particular game........

It favors those of us who have constant access to RX.

Some players might travel, or for whatever reason no be able to log in as often as it takes to make their picks.

My feeling is that there should be a default.....such as if you don't say otherwise, you are automatically picking your team to cover no matter what the pointspread. In that way, those who can't log in as often are on a more level playing field with those who always have access. Either that or there should be a way to phone in your selection.

Vacation, Business, weather (downed cable modem) all influence whether access to RX is available. If no extra games involved to cover for missed day or two, why not allow your team to become a default for days you are not able to access?

Just my thoughts.

Players (and everyone else) - speak up all you want, I was just messing around with you earlier. I have nothing to do with it at all except as a player, Bucsfan is running it. If he wants to change something I don't have a problem with it. To put $100 in for the season I am pretty easygoing and will go with whatever everyone else does. Just want to have some fun.

Carry on if you guys believe something should be changed, now's the time to address it. He will probably be around later.

Zapster while I understand your point, I think if anyone was going to have issues with this contest they should not have signed up if they did not think they were going to have access to it on the nights there team plays...They did not have to put up the hundred
