I Have A Wireless Card And When I Put It In My Computer At Home, I'am Picking Up A Signal From Some Were In My Neighborhood. My Question Is, Can The Person Who Has The Signal Tell If I'am On Line Using There Signal ?.....i Do Not Want Some Neighbor Getting Mad If I'am Stealing There Signal.......thanks In Advance G.
Depends on what kind of router they have .... there is a log file that is generated in the router and this log can show a mac address and/or a different IP that theirs. Depending on how advanced the router is there is the remote possibilty they could ID you from a MAC address.
Sifting through a log file can be quite a task though ... and if the person does not know how to locked down their wifi connection chances are they have no idea how to go through the log file.
