High Defintion TV is awesome. The only problem is finding high definition shows. For example currently the NFL only shows 3 games a week in hidef. The Sunday night, Monday night and one random Sunday day game. That's a joke.

I just bought a 51" Hitachi HD Widescreen TV for $2300 @ FutureShop. DVDs look amazing. Went from a 21" to this. WOW! Well worth the investment considering the amount of sports and TV in general you'll be watching in your lifetime. Don't know how I lived w/o it.

The bar I work at has a 62" HDTV and it is well worth it. It is a big difference, like AM vs FM radio.

I have a 73" Mitsubishi HDTV. I love watching shows in HD. Slim pickings for now but it's going to get better. A lot depends on how much yyou local channels broadcast in HD.

BTW, I saw the NASCAR IMAX 3D movie which was shot in digital. Awesome picture. Clear as could be.

HD is terrific but a lot of people have an impression that all you need is the TV and you're set to go.

Many cable companies rent an HD converter box...if not, you're going to have to shell out for a satellite dish set-up. And either way, you're not going to get a ton of HD content. Perhaps 12 channels at the most.

Vegasisdead, what's the model number of your TV? $3k is awfully expensive for a 30" set. Gateway had a deal a few months back for a 40" Panasonic plasma EDTV at $2500. IMO, that's the best deal ever on a wall unit.

The line up in Las Vegas isn't bad and is growing very fast. The converter box is about 10 bucks a month. I get more High Def TV here than in San Diego. I bought a Panasonic 32" flat screen for the bedroom for about a grand. I added monster surround sound system for another 350.00. I'm waiting for the Plasma screens to drop in price a bit so I can stick the big screen in my office and install a new TV on the wall in the living room. By the end of the year I expect the prices to drop another 30 percent.

Surf,
i checked ebay and the last one that sold by a seller that wasnt an obvious scammer was 1925.00 plus shipping, Item number: 3095688343. I would take 1750 for it and can deliver in the ny area or if youd like to come visit the hamptons that would be fine as well. I dont have a ebay sellers account or i would sell it on there.I only took it out of the box for a half hour to take pics. the speakers are still sealed in the box. I can take pictures of it with todays paper (to prove this is no scam) and have the receipt as well. I think 1750 is a real fair price since the tv is brand new. one last thing surf, i watched that race last night and thought he was going to take it all. good luck with him
