So I joined the networking portion of Monster.com as I am looking for some specific job market conditions in a few places I am thinking of relocating to. The whole concept looks good as you get to find people working at certain companies or in areas and you can try to get in an email exchange with them.

But it obviously is a bit beyond their reach right now. Being someone with a degree in business who has about 10 years experience in finance and accounting, why in the hell should I want to talk with this person as Monster suggests to me (not sure how well this will format):

Employers
Years Employed Company Title Location
2003 - Present View now. Free VIP trial!
2002 - 2003 Circle K customer service represenative Glendale, Arizona
2002 - 2002 Rosas Mexican Grill Inc server Mesa, Arizona
2000 - 2001 Dennys server/trainer/host Phoenix, Arizona
1997 - 2000 Stevie Gs Pizza asst. manager Peoria, Arizona

Schools/Degrees
When Attended School Degree
2005 Glendale Community College Some College Coursework Completed

Summary: A food server and manager in Phoenix, a place I have no interest in living in, who hasn't even finished community college.

I just hope this reminds anyone that works with a website such as the Rx that we should never bite off more than we can chew! If we can't offer up quality new sections, why should we bother doing it until we can do it right?

I'm currently looking for a job, put my resume on Monster.

Couple weeks ago, I got an email from Monster. "According to your profile, you might be interested in this job!"

NYC is looking to hire more police officers. Apparently Monster (or NYC) sent the email to EVERYBODY who has a Monster account.

I don't live within 3 hours of NYC, I've NEVER lived within 3 hours of NYC. In my profile, NYC is not one of my desired locations. I don't want to work in law enforcement. I've never had a job in law enforcement.

Yet Monster thought I'd be interested in the position?
