<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->While I was in The ICU Waiting Room...for my mom..............My Cousin who is Home Schooled.........had a few math problems....21 in all, and that last one had me "Stumped!"
Thanks For The Answer.........I'll Tell Him it's 1/4 Sq Feet, but The Only Problem Is.......He Has To Show How He Got The Answer.
Green Dob....Any Help W/ That Would Be Much Appreciated!

First thing you want to do is reduce the second fraction. Since both 81 and 144 are divisible by 9 you divide the numerator and the denominator by 9.
81/9= 9 and 144/9=16,
Now your problem looks much simpler at 4/9 of 9/16. Both the 9's cancel each other out (ask for the multiplicative property, I can't remember it) and you have 4/16. Divide numerator and denominator by 4 and you get 1/4.
The point of most math problems is to reduce them to numbers less than 12. That is why we only learned our times tables up to 12 X 12.
