the first 6 hours after the procedure was the worst part.....

-cost me 2K CDN (roughly 1700 USD)

-Insurance does not cover as it is an OPTIONAL surgery

-Flirting with Checks, yes :103631605 , however I am a ONE woman man.... Dante, did you meet my better half at the Bash?

-first 6 hours was the worst as it felt like you had some sand in your eyes.... eyes were tearing alot & you coudnt really open them..... I basically spent the whole day & night yesterday sleeping.....

-today MUCH MUCH better, I CAN SEE!!!! WITHOUT GLASSES!!!!

-I have been one who ALWAYS, ALWAYS must wear their glasses

I thought that 450 USD/eye was good (Down here in CR), yet last june when I was in Vegas they were advertising it for as low as 250 per eye. problem is I am sure they probably wont like to operate someone from abroad

I had it done 3 years ago. I had a very bad astigmatism in each eye. After my first surgery was done my sight still was not perfect. After waiting 90 days they did each eye again. After that my sight was excellent. Since then one of my eyes has gotten very bad again (astigmatim). The other eye is still excellent. The surgrery had nothing to do with me getting my astigmatism back. I'm going to see the doctor in a few weeks. My cornea is still thick enough to do another surgery but I don't think the doctor will recommend that since my astigmatism came back. They want your vision to be stable before performing lasik on you. I would recommend the surgery.

My son had it done....twice...as the first doctor screwed up. His vision was OK, but he had a hard time seeing in the dark. Had it done again and it corrected everything.

Out here in SoCal, they have a doctor teaching a new process where they don't even cut into the eye and you can see immediately. It was shown on the Today Show about 2 weeks ago. Dr. is in Santa Monica.

Hey Savant

Hi buddy, haven't talked to you in a while. Nice job with
the eyes, I am considering it also. Just a little wimpy so far.

I know you love your teasers as do I, good luck with them
this year. I especially like them with doggies in the pro's.

Thanks to whoever bumped this thread, I am considering getting laser surgery in the near future.

What is better, laser or lasik?

How myopic are (were?) you guys ( SS and TT). I'm a bit older than you two (44) to what I believe correlates to 35 and 40 or so.

I started thinking about this 20 years ago, but never did it. I'm pretty heavily nearsighted... about 5 diopters, no astigmatism.

I'd like to lose the glasses, never adjusted well when I tried contact lenses.

To put it less technically... I'm rather severely near-sighted, to the point, I'd have to put my face about 6-8 " ( or a dick length ?) from the laptop screen to read this W/O glasses.

I would not drive W/O glasses ( illegal for me) unless a real emergency ( never have). I'd be safer at .2 BAC with glasses than sober with no lenses... so in other words... I'm very near-sighted !
