seriously. Bama wasnt covering the whole game then scored 17 pts in 3 mins in the 4th so it really shouldnt be that shocking

When did I say it was a bad beat? I said I got back doored! Bama was up by 12 points with a minute left and Clemson had 0 time outs! Don't tell me it wasn't a bad beat because you had a $2 bet with your neighbor that Clemson would cover! That is the definition of back door!!!

:lolBIG: Exactly. I had the same debate with Daigo23 in another thread.

Alabama was up 45-33 with 1:07 left. Alabama was up by 12 points and covering the -7 spread.

Clemson scores a trash TD with 12 seconds left in the game.

This is a BACKDOOR COVER. Why do people have such a hard time comprehending this? :think2:

Here's the actual definition:

Back Door Cover
In sports betting, a back door cover occurs when the team you wagered on covers the spread in the last minutes of the game.

Clemson did backdoor it but it is surprising that it took a backdoor for them to win the money. Tigers +7 were the right side.

Alabama gave you the backdoor and then blew it. Oh well.

Bama was covering on and off the game last night. It could have went either way. They don't give Henry the TD on 3rd down at the end, no way in hell Clemson covers. Bama covered most of the 4Q, so technically it was a backdoor. Was it a bad beat, no way. If Bama had cashed those holding a Clemson ticket couldn't scream bad beat either. Good game, better team won and should have covered. They just couldn't close out.

I would never call this a back door cover
True back door is one where the team wasn't covering most of the game
