heard a few guys talking in the diner today and they said odom is most likely out of la

according to them 3 teams where he most likely would go would be cavs, suns, spurs

my guess would of been trailblazers but it seems they passed him up for millsahp

if he left la maybe suns?

While I'm sure Odom is pissed and feels like LAL is lowballing him, it is kinda tough for him to do much about it unless he wants to go somewhere for the Mid-Level. No teams have cap room anymore besides Portland who just signed Millsap to an offer sheet. Maybe Odom waits that out and sees if Utah matches then goes to Port? thats really his only hope.

Spurs spent their mid-level, Cle spent half of theres and Suns I believe half of theres as well so those 3 aren't really options. Portland is kinda his best shot if things don't work with MIllsap, otherwise he is kindof in a tough spot. Should of tried to leave earlier in FA....

Yeah he really screwed up that Gasol deal too.

Odom will cost himself too much money going anywhere other than than LA.

If he wants to make less money and go to a team who has less of a chance to win a championship and wants to go to a smaller market then he should leave LA.

If he goes to Cle about the same chance to win a ring. Don't know about the money.

He made the contracts after career years, which is one reason he didn't want to pay Ariza $50 million over 5 years for a decent regular season and good post season.

The Cavs could definitely use him, but I don't see how they'd work him under their cap. They gave part of their MLE to Anthony Parker, and I can't see Odom signing for the rest of it. Besides, the Cavs want to keep their options open for the big FA class of next summer to sign a legit All-Star side kick for LBJ after Shaq's massive salary comes off the books. I think Odom landing in Cleveland is probably a 1 in 100 chance...especially since he's after $10 mil/year.

The Cavs have way less money to offer - only part of the MLE. Lakers can offer whatever since LO is there own player. They just have to pay buck for buck lux tax. Lakers are offering over 7 mill a year which is a mill over MLE. LO wants 10 mill.

The market in clev is small and the city is not the best place to live.

Also, what will LO do in clev for the next 3-4 years if LBJ leaves? That the main reason big FA's are skipping clev. No one wants to be there if LBJ leaves.

Clev has nothing to offer over LA.

Yep. I think Sasha shot 44% from the 3 the year season before the contract.

+ His contract is only a 3 year 15 mill deal so after next year he can be moved as an expiring contract.

The Walton contract is the 1 that hurts. 4 more years of the guy at 5-6 mill.

But the sides might not be as far apart as that. Ronnie Lester, assistant GM, told me Saturday that he heard the Lakers offer now a“little north of $8 million” and he expected a deal to get done early next week.
