The line could easily be Alabama +100 and I still would not take the points.

I would take Jacksonville -40 and not even blink. That's a lock and you wouldn't even have to sweat it. If you get in the 50's you wonder about motivation and time. Jacksonville could eat up a lot of clock getting first down after first down and depending on how many BIG scoring plays they had there could be an argument for Alabama +50.

These are men vs boys, fulltime jobs against part time, professionals vs rookies.

This argument happens every year. Any nfl team would annihilate any college team.

Anyone who even thinks that Alabama would even have a prayer against Jville, much less Denver does not understand the game.

Jville would literally beat Bama by 100.

In this situation there would not be much difference in how big Jville beats Bama vs how bad Denver would be Bama.

The differential is so great in both cases you would not be able to tell the difference regardless if it was Jville or Bama.

I see I am in the minority. I do not doubt however that denver especially would annihilate bama.. but I just dont see the reason the pro team would push and push to score that much when the pro game is much slower played out and the spreads/totals show that week after week

Murph....sure the pace is slower, but Denver still rolled up 52 the other day. Turnovers would be plentiful. All a pro team would need is 10 possessions. Denver, Green Bay, New England etc. anybody with a read-orientated QB would score on a college team in six plays max. Do you see Bama stopping Rodgers throwing to Nelson, Jones, Cobb and Finley. No way they could cover them. Bama couldn't throw against any NFL team. Sure if an NFL team got up they might go on cruise, but if they wanted an NFL team could roll up the points no matter what the pace.

murph, i think what we are forgetting is the turnovers...(I also discount this).

Imagine this:

Denver gets ball first...scores in 1:30 seconds....kicks it off, McCarron throws and interception. Peyton scores on next play. Denver kicks off again....now run on 1st run on 2nd, run on 3rd, fumble...denver recovers. Denver scores in about 4 plays.

I can totally see Denver being up 21-0 within the first 7 minutes.

If you gave the college kids three months to prepare, you have a game. Still think Jax would win.

good point regarding preparation.....random college players have no connections....

I would love to see it.....2014 draft class playing vs last place NFL team.....pay the college boys some money and make it happen before any combine. (still won't happen cause of injuries...but nice to dream)

They used to have the College All-Stars play the NFL champions to start the season. All-Stars beat the Packers one year I remember. But that was before year-round training OTAs etc. and the NFL guys just smoke and drank and worked another job during the offseason. Then draft picks started collecting big contracts and that was the end of that. Was played in Chicago every year.

I will say I'll take 2013 Alabama or 2013 Oregon versus a 1960's NFL team ........Just too much speed, size, and power...

I don't know. You are right with size and speed, but the 1966-1967 Packers were a bunch of tough bastards. The NFL was a lot meaner back then. Some of those fast, big 20-year-olds would probably piss themselves if Dick Butkus or Ray Nitschke were growling just three yards from them.

Look at it this way.

I am going to take the sucky ass Saints when Mike "Idiot" Ditka was the head coach.
They were 3-13 and awful.

Ditka was famous when he was with the Saints for drafting players that were great in college but did not project will to the NFL.
There was a time when the Saints had 5 heisman trophy winners on the team at the same time but besides Ricky Williams they all sucked as pro's.

So lets take this sucky 3-13 Saints team of 1995

They had Danny Wuerffel and Heath Shuler at QB.
Sure these guys sucked in the NFL but you have to remember this fantasy matchup is an NFL team against a college team.

The fact that the 2 above QB's sucked in the NFL is meaningless if they are going to be playing against the #1 team in college football in this fantasy matchup.

Both of these NFL plugs were proven college stars.

Wuerffel won the Heisman, and Shuler was all world at Tennessee and the 3rd pick of the draft.

At running back the Saints had a Heisman winner in Ricky Williams and the NCAA's leading rusher from the year before and heisman runner up in Troy Davis of Iowa St.

At left tackle they had one of the best in NFL history in HOFer Willie Roaf. They also had(although he was a complete bust in the NFL) 1st team all american Chris Naeole at guard. Had 1st round pick Kyle Turley at right tackle.

Had 1st team all american tight end from Notre Dame Irv Smith even though he sucked in the NFL.

Saints receivers that year was atrocious at the NFL level but they were a who's who in college. Remember this fantasy game would be against college players so it does not matter if they were bust in the NFL.

The receivers were 1st and 2nd team all americans in college.

And this was just the offense.

Could you imagine a College football team today with that kind of talent?

This is the 3-13 Saints im talking about.
The worst team in the NFL at the time.

But if you take this sucky Saints team of Who's who's of college football they would beat every team in college by 50+ on there worst day.

Even the Jags of right now would be loaded on the college level.

As bad as Blaine Gabbart and Chad Heene are in the NFL they would be the top 1/2 combination in all of college football if they were in college.

MJD would be a heisman contender.
The bust suspended WR from Oklahoma St was the best receiver in college football the year he got drafted.

Just look at Tim Tebow.
Some people consider him to be the best QB in college history yet he cant even make a team.

I could go on and on.

Denver would get what 4-5 possessions a QTR?

I'd say they would score a TD in 90% of their possessions and a FG in the other 10%.

Bama would lose 0-114 to Denver
Bama would lose 7-67 to Jax

You'd have to make the line in the Denver game -90
Jax game -55?

If you gave the NFL teams some incentive to not lay down until the fourth quarter, I would take the NFL team and those lines, although giving 90 would be tough cuz I like underdogs. But I have no doubt Denver, Green Bay, New Orleans, New England, etc. would have no problem leading 60-0 at half.

not only would the offense score on 90% of their possessions but the defense would probably outscore bamas offense.

the worst player in the NFL would be a stand out on any ncaa team
