After implementing more tax law changes and increasing the complexity of the tax code more than any President I practiced under he proclaims; "I'm going to simplify the tax code".

After spending more money than anyone could have possibly imagined and growing the deficit to 1 trillion per year he proclaims; "I'm going to balance the budget".

After signing a stimulus bill that is estimated to be 80% to 95% earmarks, he proclaims "there is no pork in this spending bill".

He says he wants to be a bi-partisan President, but doesn't allow the GOP to even read a 800 billion dollar spending bill before having a vote on it.

He says he's going to restore diplomacy in Washington and put an end to partisan bickering, and his director of Homeland Security literally calls "right wingers terrorists".

He says he's going to have the most ethical administration ever, and he proceeds to nominate tax cheats to cabinet positions, and calls them indispensable after their ethical shortcomings are revealed.

I'm telling you, you cannot make this shit up

Like it or not, domestic policies will be taking a backseat very soon. The Pakistan and Iran situations are simmering. And Hamas is fully rearmed. Shit going on in Lebanon as well. Good Luck Mr. President!

Tim G is an intentional tax cheat. Same goes for Prez BO's former HHS nominee Tom D. Intentional isn't even the word for this guy. Who all else didn't pay their taxes after lecturing us about not paying enough?

Do you truly believe (all politics aside) that all these folks are actual intentional tax cheats?

If you find an error or oversight in a tax return prepared by someone else, is your first assumption that you're dealing with an intentional tax cheat?

after reading how they got to where they are, I gave Obama's nominee for Health Care Zar a free pass, I believe she's being honest and overly cautious. I give no such respect to the filings and actions of the Treasury Secretary or former Sen TD. Their actions don't pass the smell test.

To answer your question, if there was a grievous error to the taxpayer's benefit found on a return prepared by somebody else, I assume the taxpayer knew about it. It's how a good tax preparer would cover his ass so as to avoid a potential malpractice litigation.

Since the mistake cost TD a cabinet position, do you think he would have grounds to initiate a lawsuit? Did he at least fire his accountant?

Treasury secretary nominee Timothy F. Geithner failed to pay Social Security taxes, even though he was advised by his employer to do so, signed an agreement indicating that he understood that such payments were his responsibility and received extra pay from his employer specifically for that purpose. Mr. Geithner "came clean" only when he was caught, first by an IRS audit that found he owed Social Security taxes for 2003 and 2004 and then when additional tax liabilities for 2001 and 2002 were discovered after his nomination. He has been praised for repaying these additional taxes for the earlier years, which apparently may not have been required under a statute of limitations, but this raises another question: Why didn't he voluntarily correct his 2001 and 2002 taxes once he found out that he had made the same error in 2003 and 2004?

this does not appear to be an inadvertant oversight to me

How can this possibly end well? We are going to default soon, and the dollar is going to be worthless. What hope is there? Please share.

are you talking to me? if so, you're simply not paying attention.

BTW: I don't watch any news, although I suspect you watch one or more of the cheerleading networks.

late addition, not a very strong defense you're putting up there. Reminds me of the good ole fashion "watch out" blocks. Turn around and tell your QB to "watch out".
