I think they have been for a long time also but this may the first time it has been confirmed and the public made aware. I don't think he was once popular with the military, I think it is finally coming to the surface. I think "turned" means they are no longer hiding their opinions of Obama and that he has lost their confidence. They do not believe in him or believe anything he says.
