Obama once again being educated and talking to educated people... no surprise there. Definitely no Joe's, Scottcarter's, or Dave's in that crowd. Hopefully our future generations won't be so dumb. It's pretty clear to the academic world that global warming is indeed happening and a very serious problem for our future. Obama mocking the retard bar, got to love it!!! Conservatives are just a running joke these days.

During a commencement address at UC Irvine, President Barack Obama outlined a new $1 billion competitive fund to encourage cities to develop their infrastructure in advance of the effects of climate change, and criticized those who still disputed the environmental phenomenon.

“It’s pretty rare that you’ll encounter somebody who says the problem you’re trying to solve simply doesn’t exist,” Obama said. “When President Kennedy set us on a course to the moon, there were a number of people who made a serious case that it wouldn’t be worth it. But nobody ignored the science. I don’t remember anybody saying the moon wasn’t there or that it was made of cheese.”

Obama also said efforts to deny the science were cloaks for electoral queasiness: “They say, ‘Hey, look, I’m not a scientist.’ And I’ll translate that for you: what that really means is, ‘I know that manmade climate change really is happening but if I admit it, I’ll be run out of town by a radical fringe that thinks climate science is a liberal plot.’”

the title "Obama Speaking the Truth" :):)

climate has been changing forever. It will always continue to do so. No matter what Obama or Al Gore say.

AK, Obama can stand there and tell you Santa Claus is real and if you find a present under your tree on December 25th you will post a thread claiming he exists.

That's a pretty solid argument. You should tell the entire world of scientists that weather can change on its own. I'm sure they have no clue. Really educated stuff you got going on.

    More Severe Weather To Come

Winter just won't quit, even as summer is right around the corner. Cool, huh?
Snow is falling over the higher elevations, as an upper-level low swirls over the Northern Rockies. Alta, Utah reported nine inches of snow on Tuesday, which makes it their third highest one-day snowfall total in June. Lake-effect rain and snow has also developed off the Great Salt Lake, with snow above 7,000 feet.

Winter Alerts

map_specnewsdct-09_ltst_4namus_enus_320x180.jpg

Mountain snow will continue through Wednesday night or Thursday morning in parts of the Northern Rockies. Winds will gust up to 30 mph and visibility may be less than half a mile at times. Snow levels will drop to 6,500 feet through Wednesday, where winter storm warnings are in place. Winter weather advisories are also posted for the Tetons and the Wasatch Mountains.
Closer to pass level, look for a mix of rain and snow, with no accumulation expected. But if you have an early summer vacation planned for Glacier National Park, remember to bring your snow gear as more than a foot of snow is not out of the question.
(FORECAST: Glacier National Park | Yellowstone National Park)
Plow crews began the process of digging out Logan Pass in Montana last week, and they hope to have the Sun Road open to Logan Pass sometime after June 20. Conditions across the region will improve this weekend. Temperatures will climb into the 70s with mostly sunny skies.

OBAMA FLUNKS HIS CLIMATE SCIENCE 101 AT UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE

OBAMA TALKS CLIMATE CHANGE AT UC...

bb-contributor-80x100-jdelingpole.png
Denying climate change is like saying the moon is made of cheese, President Obama has said in his latest attempt to persuade an unconvinced world that "global warming" is the most urgent crisis of our time.

Obama was speaking to a crowd of around 30,000 at a commencement ceremony at the University of California, Irvine. Justifying the extravagance of his metaphor he said: "I want to tell you this to light a fire under you."

Here are some lines from his speech which explain why those present would be better off ignoring their pyromaniacal president's entreaties.

"I'm not a scientist." Possibly the only factually accurate words in the president's entire speech.

"But we've got some good ones at NASA." "Did have some good ones at NASA"would have been more accurate. Problem is, the organisation that put man on the moon is now in the grip of climate alarmists like Gavin Schmidt, successor to activist James "Death Trains" Hansen. In 2012, 49 former NASA astronauts and scientists wrote to protest against the anti-scientific, alarmist position being adopted by Hansen and Schmidt at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS). They wrote: "We believe the claims by NASA and GISS, that man-made carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data."

"I do know the overwhelming majority of scientists who work on climate change, including some who once disputed the data, have put the debate to rest." No, you don't know, Mr President. You're just repeating the multiply discredited "97 per cent" consensus meme. And even that figure were accurate - which it isn't - scientific knowledge is not a numbers game. If it were, we would still be going with the majority view that tectonic plates are a myth, that stomach ulcers are caused by stress, that combustion is caused by phlogiston, that leeches can relieve fever, that malaria comes from the bad air in swamps, etc.

“In some parts of the country, weather-related disasters like droughts, fires, storms and floods are going to get harsher, and they’re going to get costlier.”Technically accurate, utterly meaningless. Given the chaotic nature of weather, records are always being broken somewhere in the future. Increased costliness is a given as populations grow and more expensive houses and offices are built to accommodate their needs.

"Today's Congress is full of folks who stubbornly and automatically reject the scientific evidence." Indeed. They're called Democrats and most of them refuse to accept the overwhelming evidence that there has been no global warming since 1997, that the computer models which predicted catastrophic warming have been proved wrong by real world data. If it weren't such an ugly term you might almost call them "deniers."

"They will tell you climate change is a hoax or fad." There is a name for people who say such things. Truth-tellers.

"One member of Congress actually says the world might be cooling." Only one? Only one person in the whole of Congress knows that the Earth has entered a prolonged cooling period, the result of weak solar activity?

“It’s pretty rare that you’ll encounter somebody who says the problem you’re trying to solve simply doesn’t exist. When President Kennedy set us on a course to the moon, there were a number of people who made a serious case that it wouldn’t be worth it. But nobody ignored the science. I don’t remember anybody saying the moon wasn’t there or that it was made of cheese.”

As Anthony Watts says, this is 'grade school level logical fallacy.' No one said the moon wasn't there or that it was made of cheese because neither statement is true. There is, on the other hand, a large - and fast-growing - body of evidence, well understood by many distinguished scientists and economists, that the catastrophic man-made global warming "problem" Obama is so keen to fix is, to all intents and purposes, non-existent.

That's a pretty solid argument. You should tell the entire world of scientists that weather can change on its own. .
the scientist already know and have been telling us for a long time. You just don't wanna listen. Its your right I suppose.

Again, as I have said many many times ... scientists and guys like Obama also told us ...

aspartame is safe - its proven to be one of the most poisonous things on earth that people consume

asbestos is safe - how many got cancer because of it? How many hundreds of thousands died? too many to count. Major law suites. etc

WMD's were in Iraq - War is money also. need I say more?

GMO's are safe - protected from law suites by the US government and are being banned all over the world because of all the proven illnesses and disease they cause. Not in the US though. Money comes first as we know.

low fat diets are the way to go! - things like butter is bad for you - since then, NOrth American obesity gone through the roof. Diabetes and all sorts of illnesses. Oh wait, the FDA can approve drugs to help fight this. Maybe you can seen a commercial or two about all these great pills that do all this wonderful stuff. Ya it might cause bleeding of the eyes, vomiting, diarrhea, you may become suicidal and you might get a heart attack but ask your doctor if it may be right for you.

wine and beer are bad - ya right. Now its 2 glass a day is good for your heart.

coffee is bad - now 3 cups of black coffee a day has huge health benefits. Imagine that?

eggs - wow too much cholesterol . remember ... eggs white omelettes only please. - Now eggs are good cholesterol.

we can go on forever.

Believe what you want. Believe those scientists and politicians who keep telling you lies year after year after year just to make money and their share holders money. Ignore the facts as they slap you right in the face. Go ahead and believe those scientist who rely on government funding to come up with these convenient conclusions.

Obey! Trust unconditionally! They are looking out for you! LOL.

It has nothing to do with science and everything to do with controlling production on a global scale.

'Warmers' aren't just deniers of reality, they're commies through and through.

UN climate chief declares communism best for fighting global warming

And 'Sotoero' is as dogmatic as it gets.
:103631605

if Obama came out tomorrow and changed his stance on man-made global warming, like he did on gay marriage, AK and many Warmers would also change their mind. They will of course find some way to spin it.

This is too easy.

If I had a vote, id vote against gay marriage. However scientists understand global warming is real, therefore I will side with them. Your anti-science doesn't work with me.

This is the ultimate putdown. Bush had about as low an approval rating as one could get after Katrina. Here comes Obama to bail Bush out,
Obama's silly notions about Global Warming are falling on deaf ears, anything he tried to champion has become toxic.

'Americans now view President Obama as less competent than George W. Bush at the same point in his presidency, according to a new poll.

The Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey found that just half of all respondents consider Obama to be competent, even lower than those polled in the wake of Bush's botched response to Hurricane Katrina.'

Good.

Your dogmatic bullshit doesn't work with anyone.

I'd start to question to my sanity and intelligence if I ever came close to agreeing with anything you and your "epitome of perfection" mancrush ever said.

If people want to understand how far the United States has sunk, consider this:

Under JFK, NASA aimed for the moon.

Under Obama, NASA aims to reach out to Muslims and regurgitate the tomfoolery of Al Gore.

What an utter embarrassment your communist political party has become.

what else would the President talk about?

might be the only thing he hasn't been proven to be categorically incorrect about.

for that to happen, it's going to take time (which isn't very good to libtards)

issues the least prepared man in the room cannot talk about to college grads (or any time really)

1) being prepared
2) working hard
3) integrity
4) transparent government
5) the economy
6) foreign policy
7) health care
8) creating jobs
9) picking winners, another flaw libtards are evidently burdened with (Solyndra? Chevy Volt? Biden? Holder? Kerry?............)
10) race relations
11) working together
12) the constitution
13) law
14) taxes
15) creating wealth

Climate change does exist... its existed for as long as the earth has been around.

Is it Man-Made? Nope.....

If you say it is... how to you explain the "ice Age" ? ... Explain the "Medieval Warm Period".... Explain the "Little Ice Age"... those were all man-made as well correct? Since the earth doesn't seem to be able to warm and cool itself....

It is amazing how much Obama sounds like Aktard and Guesser, (the moose and squirrel of the Poli forum).

Or maybe it’s not so amazing.

Very solid evidence. The science in you is strong! Can't wait for your peer review research papers. Maybe you and Scott can collaborate and make it a picture book so it's better suited for your audience.
