lol....It's a cute topic line, but I think we all know that gun sales have always been recession proof in the USA.

As it should be

I need to buy stock in Glock

has more to do with the looming depression than anything

and like bardude says guns are pretty recession proof

as during recessions crime rates go up so in response fears of families safety and protection go up along with it

As long as all background checks and proper paperwork is processed. Gun sales are OK.

When someone like CHO flys under the radar and the kid can purchase two powerful single hand firearms. Then we have reason to worry.

criminals that want to carry out suicidal crimes will always find ways to get guns

hell just look at the mumbai attacks they snuck in all the weapons and explosives via boat

if people are determined to do something they will find a way no laws are gonna stop them

culture and what leads people to do such acts is the problem we should focus on

not focusing on how they get their weapons to carry out crimes and expect that to stop them from doing it

I disagree to an extent. You got to know dirty people to get dirty guns. The guy had no social skills. He would have never got those weapons if he couldnt go do it under law.

Cho was a mental case and said weapons should have never been sold to him in the first place.

Culture as an excuse?! That's rediculous. That's some far right trash christian thinking.

I love violent video games and movies. I detest real life violent acts they make me sick.

if you plop down joe or jane at age 12 toss a controller in his/her hand and say go at it as far as society as whole goes

chances are it will lead to more crime and violence in society overall

that's just common sense.....that said i enjoy violent video games as well so what can you do i guess

other than protect yourself, your family and your friends

individual responsibility and educating those around you is key....that's the problem with liberalism they think they can "fix" things for everybody but in the end the only one that can fix things is individuals taking responsibility for themselves

that said i'm not blaming video games anyway though

i'm an anarchist at heart....

my point is society tends to outcast people and many people get lost in the rat race

all the signs of major major major problems with this kid were ignored and in alot of the ways parents to blame as well IMO

its not a easy problem to "fix" persay and there are always risks that go along with being a "free" society i put it in quotes since that free part is becoming less the case by the day

i'm not claiming that violent video games has much to do with nor am i claiming that making access to guns harder for guys like this is gonna stop it either

bottom line being the anarchist i say shit happens

people gonna get killed in cars, in trains, in airplanes, in earthquakes, in tornados, in hospitals due to doctor error, and also in schools by some random act of violence that is blasted all over the MSM for days on end

its all chaos no laws or rules is gonna stop it from happening

It would seem that if the gov't wanted some type of gun control wouldn't it be easier to ban the sale of ammunition? Having a gun doesn't mean much if you can't purchase ammo.

again another pointless excercise as its quite easy to make your own ammo if you really wanted to

prohibition of anything don't work history has proven this over and over again

in the current day and age we have the "war on drugs"

which is a huge money pit and complete and utter failure

The gov't could restrict the sales of anything related to making your own ammo. How could this country even come close to getting rid of all the guns out there?

Of course there would always be a black market for anything that's prohibited by law. My only point was that it would be easier to restrict the sale of ammo than it would be to try and rid the country of guns.

When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

The gov't could never recover all of the guns that private citizens currently have in their possession.

well this discussion really isn't about ridding of all guns or whatever that's never gonna happen in our lifetime at least

and if it does happen its not a society you will want to live in....as it will be a very fascist/dictatorial type society....

my point is no extra background checks or whatever is gonna stop a incident like Va tech from happening liberals think rules and regulations will stop shit like this

it has more to do with culture and society as a whole the nanny state affect

where we think government rules and regulations will keep us safe

when in reality the only person that can truly keep themselves safe is the individual and taking responsibility for themselves and what happens in their lives

what amazes me is how the right and left use the same flawed logic for their arguments on different topics

the left uses the argument that restricting gun ownership will stop crime

while the right used the argument that restricting access to illlegal drugs will stop drugs from being consumed and also crime (the war on drugs)

both are liberal logic and fatally flawed

honest people will register their guns and make sure they have all the necessary paperwork. And they'll wind up paying the addition taxes to do so.

I don't think people planning an armed robbery or a murder are to concerned about the legality of their weapon of choice. IMHO

You have to register a gun where you live?

y willie out east so likely

u don't need it in texas every state different

like plaxico in double trouble being in NY

#1 its not registered
#2 you need a concealed weapon license (all states u need to undergo background check and necessary paperwork to carry them in public)

bloomberg gonna use that guy as an example to push the stricter gun laws issue

he'll do time almost certain

and believe me there are many more plaxico's roaming around out there and no laws and such will stop it....and in the end there was no intent as far as harm to the public as a whole in the whole situation

obviously he's a fucking moron for carry a unlicensed gun in public in a very strict gun law state and doesn't have a fucking clue how to handle a gun to begin with if he ends up shooting himself in the leg by mistake

but that's not the point

Plaxico isn't all that bright. I think he'll do time. That case will be very easy to prosecute. He obviously had a loaded gun because the dumbass shot himself.

I've been carrying a gun for over 17 years and I've never had a problem.
