Obama: ‘It is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once.’»

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) just gave a press conference responding to Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) suggestion that they both suspend their campaigns, postpone Friday’s debate in Mississippi, and return to Washington to deal with the financial crisis. Obama said that he would like to the debate to go forward as planned because “it is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once”:

With respect to the debates, it’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess. And I think that it is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once. I think there’s no reason why we can’t be constructive in helping to solve this problem and also tell the American people what we believe and where we stand and where we want to take the country.

Sounds awfully presidential to me. You don't QUIT or CALL TIME OUT like Mr. Magoo.

And McCain hasn't voted since April 7. Not unusual in prez campaigns.
I agree once again....

And your point?

His commentary still sounds silly.

Hes not multitasking.Hes dedicated his entire time to campaigning. Not doing the job his constituants elected him to do.Hed have to be doing his job to avoid being hypocritical-and clearly hes not.

Dont bother trying to make this into a McCain advocate bashfest, cuz Im not one.

McCain is ducking the debates. He has missed more votes than anyone in congress and now he's going to miss the debates too.

The Left just refuses to get it.

John McCain would rather lose the election than lose the war in Iraq.

John McCain would rather lose the election than do anything to jeopardize the economy.

John McCain would rather lose the election that appoint some hack like Joe Biden to be his VP.

John McCain would rather lose the election than change his position on issues several times in the same week depending on how the polling is going.

John McCain would rather lose the election than find himself running disgraceful TV ads which grotesquely misrepresent his opponent.

John McCain puts country first. This is just another example.

John McCain probably doesn't even know what day the election in on. He is totally focussed with laser beam intensity on his duties as a Senator.

John McCain would rather lose the election than miss key votes in the US Senate.

John McCain would rather lose the election than suck up to the gay moron king of Spain.

Barack Obama? He is so obsessed with the election that he's literally changed his position in mid-sentence before. He then invariably starts playing the race card. "Hey, Whitey...vote for me, or else the brothers are going to pay your neighborhood a visit and it may not be pretty."

We are fed up with the divisive politics. We need to get the liberals and Democrats away from controlling the White House any longer.

McCain sold his soul to Bush so he could get elected. McCain would do anything to become president, like nominate an airhead bimbo as his VP candidate to garner some votes, which he has since lost.

McCain is toast. He knows, I know it and you know it.

That's good, because John McCain will lose the election.
