or maybe "a hazard that is unacceptable" is not really a crisis. Can somebody that speaks Obama-drama-bonics help me out with this one?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
President Obama announced new leadership and other changes today aimed at improving the safety of the U.S. food supply, declaring that shortcomings during the Bush administration created a "hazard to public health" that is "unacceptable."

Praise the lord for the second coming, God only knows what would have happened to us without this savior.

Just another of many for our Attention Deficit Disorder President. It would be nice if he could stay focused on what's really important (uh....could that be the economy...and namely Banking and Housing). Of course, anyone with half a brain knows that all that's important to him is his agenda (the economy can take a back seat). I love having special interest groups like the Sierra Club running the country. At some point the kool-aid will wear off and people will realize that this guy will be fucking us up for years to come. People may also one day figure out how to do basic math again. I love the "I'll save so much money by pulling troops out of Iraq and constructing green buildings that I'll have that deficit cut in half in no time". Really? Last I checked Iraq cost $10 Billion a month. Let's see...stay in Iraq for just under 6 years and that covers the same amount of the first $700 Billion bailout. The funny thing is all I heard from Dems was how much money Bush spent. Bush looks like a Miser and Obama looks like a spendthrift from where I stand. But I'm sure some Dem will put a cute little spin on it and package it up with a nice bow. I can't tell you how much enjoyment this middle class guy has had with the Dow halfing itself. Maybe at some point Obama will understand that "Main Street" has money in pension funds and 401Ks and that maybe he should just pay a little attention to the market. "Day to day gyrations" my ass! With the exception of last week, all we've done is go down, down, down. And anyone that doesn't think that was a Bear rally last week is smoking Wacky Tobaccky. Yeah I know, the banks showed a profit for a couple of months and are trying be cheerleaders. I would be too if the government was going to be giving me more money. The S & P will drop back down to at least 650...mark my words. I am so looking forward to this extended recession so we can save the world with Green power and exceptionally safe food.

OK, I feel better now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Heaven forbid we do more than one thing at a time. I mean, why would the FDA do the things that the FDA is supposed to do? Let's cancel the FDA because the banks have problems. Good grief.

It would be ironic if Willie got sick from consuming tainted food manufactured by a corporation that could care less about the safety of their products.

China's food manufacturers are pretty much unregulated and that seems to work well if you enjoy lead and melamine in your diet.

Except our government agencies are basically owned and operated by the corporations they are supposed to be regulating. Everyone thinks they can just rely on the FDA to keep them safe. People can create entities to do get the same job done better and people can get their information from a number of such private entities with a little due diligence.

He needs to stop blaming others for these here problems. He did not inherit these here problems, he accepted them when he took the job.

If their is something wrong with the food chain then we needs to fix it so the people don't get sick. This is my take on this here issue.

If any of Obama's policies work - Obama will get an "A".
If they fail - Bush will get an "F". [Dennis Miller].

Yes, the typical Dem bullshit comeback. Anyone with any intelligence can figure out that Obama and his keystone cops administration have done very little to address the banking issue and everything to set up his agenda. It's so much easier to keep the country in the "doom and gloom" mode so you can capitalize on everything you want first (that's how he works if you haven't figured it out yet). I think most people can figure that out though (but obviously not you). Looking forward to Geithner's next speech so he can say nothing again, but lecture everyone on how we got here (and he needs to take a history lesson on Glass-Steagall and dems voting down legislation to address regulation of Fannie and Freddie if he's gonna lecture). Bunch of smucks!
