Nicorette or not, this is an embarrassment. Even the French and Brits are bothered by this. While on jury duty a few years ago, the judge slammed the defense attorney for chewing gum in his courtroom, stating that he has never seen anything so disrespectful in his 40 years on the bench.

You know that it is bad when France and England start slamming the Prez, who the hell is advising this guy? Not the best venue for a disrespectful act.

Did he also drink water during the ceremony? Maybe passed some silent gas?

Chewing gum isn't a big deal, no idea why this is a big deal.

EVERYTHING and ANYTHING is a big deal when irrational, deep hatred is involved.

Because it is highly disrespectful & along the same lines as playing with a yo yo at a funeral...

It's much more than irrational, deep hatred. I voted for him in 2008, hoping he would shake things up. It didn't take long for me to realize that his inexperience would be so harmful. Our country has never been more divided. Other countries consider us a paper tiger.

Like him or not, the blatant disrespect at a solemn event is more than deep hatred. I would like to think that it was just a mistake of inexperience rather than a blatant slap in the face to our military. Either way, the foreign media is having a field day at our expense

Is this a felony level crime?

No, but it's uncouth and disrespectful. The Stuttering Clusterfuck may as well have been playing Candy Crush on his cell phone during the ceremonies. The fuckin POTUS should know better.

Not surprising the dims in here don't have a clue about proper decorum. Instead, their first instinct is to just assume it's a political attack.

The man gave a marvelous, moving speech paying tribute to The Greatest Generation, and his Grandfather, one of the them. Somehow I think that's a little more meaningful then if he's chewing gum because he's still struggling with quitting smoking(if he even has). But I expect this to be a big scandal in the usual places, among the usual people, because again, everything and anything is.

I'm sure NFL trends appreciates you calling him a "dim". What's next, that he's a Bleeding Heart Liberal because he has common sense, and isn't marching lockstep with you nutcases?

I guess the French and Brits must all be hard-core Republicans. Otherwise, they wouldn't have anything to say about this.

Jesus Christ...pull your head out of your partisan ass for just one freaking second. No one is saying this is a felony offense. But rude behavior is rude behavior, regardless of which party it comes from. Had GWB done this, I'd be saying the exact same thing. However, you just can't allow yourself to admit this is a bad look for your man crush, can you?

I could care less whether GWB, Or Reagan, or Carter, or Clinton was caught chewing gum at a ceremony. I'd be saying the exact same thing also. The last time I cared about someone getting caught chewing gum was in 3rd grade.

Which confirms my original point...you just admitted don't know anything about proper decorum or etiquette at events such as this one. Thanks for playing.

Maybe at the next military memorial ceremony, the Stuttering Clusterfuck can chew some Skoal tobacco and spit onto the graves of the soldiers. What difference, at that point, would it make...?

Guesser, my problem over the past few years is that he makes a great speech, he is one of the better orators of our time but he rarely delivers on his word. The past several months have been a disaster beginning with the Health Care doctor lie, to the VA disaster and Taliban release, with other misdeeds being swept aside. No way he gets elected if people really knew what he was like.

The gum incident is relatively minor but it is part of a pattern of behavior that has lessened our standing in the world. Other world leaders are laughing at us and I, like many other Americans have a problem with that.
