Of course, David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago on November 23, 2008and said Obama's "talked to the governor" about his replacement.

And, Connect Tristates also reported that Obama was meeting Governor Blagojevich on Wednesday November 5, 2008 to discuss his senate seat:

Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

That's one of Obama's first priorities today.

He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.​

Later in the day on November 5, 20008, Blagojevich held a news conference to talk about Barack Obama's replacement in the US Senate:

Obviously, it does not look like Barack Obama is being honest about his contact with Blagojevich.

MJ, do you have information on when the "sale" began? It's hard to imagine that even if Obama actually met Blagojevich on Nov. 5th (I'm not saying he didn't, but a morning report on the Connect Tristates website that he will do so in the afternoon is hardly proof) it had already started by then. If he didn't meet him afterwards, and so far there are no indications for that, then Obama's statement is not a lie, because it obviously meant that Obama was not in contact while something illegal went on.

I'm absolutely not defending Blagojevich and I will also not defend Obama should it turn out that he really was involved, but, MJ, seeing that currently you have nothing in the way of evidence, your attacks on Obama are simply a smear campaign, not more.

lol, "attacks on obama"? as far as I see MJ has simply c/p current news articles highlighting the passage that Obama indeed met with the Gov and did not add a word of his own commentary. If this is a "smear campaign" in Germany I'd hate to think of what you all believe to be freedom of speech.

Dude, re-read what he said. Obviously by saying he had no contact with the governor isn't saying he has never spoken with the man. His point was that he didn't know what was happening in terms of a corruption investigation into the senate seat.

People just love to rip things out of context and misstate.

There is nothing here. It is perfectly acceptable, and to be expected, that Obama had a conversation to give some thoughts, it is his senate seat after all. Clearly he did nothing wrong, put no undue pressure on anybody and did not engage in any pay to play.

But why should I be surprised that you will try to stir shit up.

preussen of course everyone on this, and any, political forum has an "intention" when they post news stories but when all they do is c/p you can't tell them they need proof to be allowed to do so. If you have such a problem with the article don't attack mj just click on the story link and email the guy who wrote it.

Yes, but that was a personal opinion that I had based on facts
with an AP article to back it up with quotes from other libs.
