played 5 races best I could muster is a second place finish ~ luckily I hit my exacta & triple box in the ninth to make a very slight profit for the day

BHP, I'm sure you don't want hear from me but I capped OP yesterday so giving my thoughts. The glaring thing that jumped out at me was the amount of lay-off horses. Some may say fresh horses but the time off seemed kind of high to me on most so I say off due to infirmities? Horses in the barn don't pay the bills! I noticed you did better on the races for winners (races 7,8 & 9)? You had the winner in all 3 so maybe stick with those types?
