Its hard to say but it will take time to get to the top spots in google for good keywords.
I have a poker review site that ranks 15 in google for the term poker reviews its about 9 or 10 months old. I've exchanged a good few links and spent $1000 buying links and my site got as high as 12 for poker reviews and it ranks on the second page for a few other longer terms lke online poker reviews and poker room reviews.
Anyway I've basicly made nothing from that site so far I also have a couple other sites that dont make much either a sports betting site that ranks on the first page of google for internet sports betting but thats not really a good keyword.
Anyway what ever you do it will probably take a bit of time even if you got a fairly big budget.

There is nothing more important than SEO for your website/business website/web-based business.
This day and age there is practically no way to "cheat" like in the old days, when you could load your pages up with meta tags and bolster your ranking. Google is too smart and you really have to have solid, targeted content for your keywords.
A couple SEO firms quoted me around $1500 to optimize my site with some pretty impressive references. I have yet to pull the trigger but very strongly considering it in the near future.
