Well I've lived in some places with a military presence

Oceanside - San Diego , Ca mainly the USMC up north, but Navy in the city.

Colo Springs- Airforce

Vegas- Airforce

Groton, ct - Navy submarine base

I've known quite a few young military guys after their service, worked with a lot of them ( in construction) back in SD, mostly good guys.

I later worked with a lot of retired career Navy guys, many Vietnam vets, some Army....at the Post office, quite a few were Filapino ( Phillapino, sp ? ).

If I were going in, I'd not go Army or USMC....not wanting a free trip to Iraq !

I would think about doing the 20 years ....you could be retired at 38 with a pension.

Two close friends of mine went into the USAF after HS ( 1982) one is retired , the other guy was a Major last I knew, probably a Colonel by now ?

20 in with an immediate pension isn't so bad of a deal.

Being a former Marine Corps Officer, I believe that every male should do at least two years in any branch of the service...

When I was in 74-78, the Air Force always had the great duty stations and clubs...

I had many more great experiences in the service during those years and traveled around the world...

But I'm sure that there are some horror stories out there also...

hahahah...thats true...dog tags hanging out, combat boots on....camo digital watch...typical bootlery and douchebaggery that goes on anwhere...these guys deserve to get whooped when they try and act like chuck norris!
