Bad start for certain but it is ultra early, Pedro's next start should be interesting to say the least.

Ultra early but still 0-4 and with the Mets history of offseason overspending ....it could get real ugly, real quick.

That blown save by Looper is still on my mind...they should have won that one and tonight they had some opportunities. Their best chance to win in the series is tomorrow against Horacio Ramirez for the Baves..he sucks, thats all, he just plain sucks. John Smoltz goes again on Sunday....I have no clue on that game, I have seen Smoltz fall apart several times over the years; thats why I think that emotionally he was better suited for the bull pen.

Glaken,

While I won't say WHO, I do believe that one of the guys you just named has an offshore sports betting account with a prominent sports book...:smoker2:

I guess Smoltz had the Marlins, Maybe he really tried, but the bet was just cause he saw " value".

I don't understand why you risk what Smoltz was already bringing to the table at this stage of his career.

Speaking of early trouble: AROD took the collar tonight going 0 for 5 in a 12-5 loss to the O's. He is hitting .176 to date. Yankee pitchers gave up 18 hits.

Yes and Wright got lit up..I will not at all be surprised to see Wright struggle, I think that signing was a mistake ...All he had was one good year.

I could see Wright ending up in the bullpen very easily...

Shrink, LOL, It sure seemed like it didn't it. If I had to make a serious guess as to which professional athlete actually has an OS account in his name I would say its Phil Mickleson.

JMan, It is well known around Atlanta that Smoltz starting this season was going to be a deal breaker in the future. It IMO is a risk, what story will history write if he throws an elbow out again? But in the end it was really his decision, as it should be...he earned a shot; was it a wise decision?....ask me during the All Star break.

Will, Arod never deserved the money or the hype...infact I think getting the $250 million contract did more to hurt his career than help it. I wonder what his numbers would be if he was allowed to ease his way into the league with a normal $10 million signing bonus and 5 year $60 million contract. I can't believe I equate those numbers with normal...but such is the pro sports world in the 21st century.
