This guy is trying to get the ball rolling on the Nanny State easily envisioned when the citizenry dropped its guard and started letting guys like this pass smoking bans in taverns everywhere. What's next? Whatever 'they' don't like, and 'they' can get away with banning. Land of the free, indeed.

What's funny is that Dems are "pro-choice" when it benefits them!

How is this a Liberal thing?

This board is 99% conservatives who spend 100% of their waking lives thinking about liberals. It's fucking annoying because there is no balance here.

You be the balance then. Explain how this is not a "liberal" thing....

I think this is a crazy fuck thing to be honest. This guy is just way too out there. I don't live in NY but it bothers me that there's a loon out there doing this. He really thinks people will drink less soda if they can only order one 32 oz cup at a time. He's just out of touch. I saw him today on the Today show and Lauer challenged him a little bit. By the way I'm not the first to make this connection but smoking has gone down and people eating sugar has gone up. People just want something in their mouth so let them do whatever they want.

These attacks on personal liberties are coming from both parties. I cannot defend the Democrats or the Republicans....especially on a gambling board, considering that a few Republican assholes in Congress got a bug up their ass and basically neutered offshore gambling. As someone who no longer identifies with either party, things like this make me feel pretty bearish on the future of America. I know that it's a cliche, but seriously, aren't there bigger fish to fry in this country? War, crime, unemployment and a tenuous financial structure to start with.... and this clown is worried about someone buying a super sized Dr. Pepper? Fuck him. I'm tired of do-gooders trying to push their personal agenda and 'morals' on everyone else, mainly because they think they are smarter than the grunts out there- hence it is 'for their own good'. This doesn't even mention the fact that some 'health advocacy lobbyist group has probably lined this cocksucker's pockets to get him to push this agenda along.

I posted here a couple months ago how i quit soda pop after drinking it over 65 years [i am 73 years old] & lowered my BP from 145/82 to 122/62, my glucose went from128 to 90 & lost 15-20 pounds in 3 months time. I now drink water & sometime flavor it with non-sugar flavors & do not miss the soda-pop at all,gl.

Another from a health perspective:

There is no argument, Sugar is one of the worse substances a person can ingest. I saw the folllowing public service billboard on the side of the road in California. It showed a bottle of soda being poured with the caption, " You would'nt eat 20 packets of Sugar, why do you drink them?

A comment on the high content of lethal Sugar inside a Sugary drink.

If I was King, I'd put health warnings on fast food and drinks. Shit, if i was King I'd ban all the fast food and Sugar from my kingdom. I wouldnt want a fat, heart attack waiting populance. My Kingdom would be easy pickings for any invading hoard.

~Falco~ would you also bring back jus primae noctis ?

The jus primae noctis was, in the European late medieval context, a widespread popular belief in an ancient privilege of the lord of the manor to share the wedding bed with his peasants' brides.

Damn straight I'd bring it back! :niceass:
