NY Mets +140 ?

Admittedly I know less about baseball than.... well anyone on the planet. Yet I can't help but throw money away on it. : )

In any case, I was browsing through today's games and noticed Philly vs NY Mets +140.?. Seems like a wierd spread given the stats of the pitching matchups...

+140 looks like good value to me. What do real baseball fans think about the spread?

Phils would be the bet here. Cole hammels is getting back to being lights out. Pelfrey coming off the worst start of this season and the mets are plauged with injuries while the phillies are getting RED HOT!

I mean take a look at hammels #'s last 3 starts:
2-0 while the team was 3-0 last start was a complete game shut out against a good hitting dodgers lineup that normally crushes lefties

Ok, that makes sense.

I was focusing too much on the overall stats: 6-4 with 4.40 era vs 7-3 with 4.85 era. Plus, home field and the Mets big name was sucking me in.
