The toughest teams they have left to play are in Chi(A) and Cal(H)
They are hot and have proven they can feed off the bottom teams.
Better than average team with a cakewalk finish.

2nd round exit though. IMHO

I'll fully admit I'm a homer before saying this. But I will also say that I have not said this in many years, and I felt like the only one on the bandwagon in January.

Canucks are going to the finals. This is the year they put it all together... with two scoring solid scoring lines, good enough defence, and a top notch goalie (who is getting better).

Most importantly, they have an opportunity to take advantage of the Western powers. I feel they get 4th (probably cool down a bit but enough to beat Chicago out). Chicago is slumping, but what's worse is that they are a young team slumping. Round 2, I'd guess would be Calgary, because I see one of Detroit or San Jose being upset. Canucks have done really well against Calgary, and I expect them to avenge their 2004 Game 7 loss (the last game I actually paid to see). Round 3, I'd guess Detroit. Detroit is a great team, with everything it takes to win. However, they have been playing hockey non-stop for so many years, including a cup win last year. I think a lot of guys will be tired, and a few guys might even lack the motivation they had last year. Canucks have the firepower to beat the average tending the Wings boast.

And that's how it will be done... :D

I'm sure they will go out there... and get swept in round 1:ohno:

PS: Check out the latest winning streak. Canucks have covered the PL in the last 7 home wins, including six two goal victories.

I hear ya. Sharks are a great team, and have had a great season.

But they are 7-5 at home in last two postseasons.

They need to get healthy fast.

Looking at the remaining schedules could support your opinion.

While Vancouver has 8 of their remaining 12 games on the road, (including a 6 game, 11 night trip, beginning tomorrow), their opposition is clearly weaker than Calgary’s remaining schedule.

There are no dominant teams remaining on the Canuck’s schedule besides one game versus Calgary at GM Place. In fact only 2 teams of the 12 games are assured of making the playoffs.

@ Phx
@ Dallas
@ St Louis
@ Colorado
@ Chicago
@ Minnesota
Anaheim
@ Edmonton
Colorado
Calgary
Los Angeles
@ Colorado

Calgary’s remaining schedule includes at least 5 teams making the post season and tough home games against Detroit and San Jose. They also finish the season with a difficult home and home considering Edmonton will also be fighting for every point to make the playoffs. Even if they aren't, the Battle of Alberta is guaranteed to bring out the Oiler's best effort. Meanwhile Vancouver finishes their season home against the Kings and at Colorado.

St Louis
Detroit
@ Pittsburgh
@ Columbus
Minnesota
San Jose
@ Dallas
@ Minnesota
Los Angeles
@ Vancouver
@ Edmonton
Edmonton

While Calgary currently has 3 points more than Vancouver they also have two more wins, (first tie breaker), and lead 6 points to 5 in head to head action, (second tie breaker).

The race for the Northwest, and important 3rd seed, could easily come down to that last meeting on April the 7th.

Dont bet against VCR tonight

I can't believe my eyes that public and the boards are backing the Ducks tonight.

Vancouver has been very good over the past couple of years in their first game home off a roadie

They are on a 9-0 at home run

Yes the ducks have won 7 of 8 but they have played Col 2X Ed 2X nash 2X and Phx 2X.

No Phalson they wont be able to contain vcrs two lines

Luongo has played out of his mind the last 7 games - 2 shut outs and a GAA under 2.

Bottom line is the Ducks are not as good the canucks and betting on the ducks b/c the nucks maybe flat is a bad idea - they will be energized to the welcome they receive tonight at GM place.

Oh yeah and if the canucks get through the first round healthy and efficienlty they are cup bound. Sharks are too beat up and in Detroit the netminding will get exposed! I think the west will be full of major upsets come playoff time.

The bottom 6-7-8-9-10 teams have been in PO mode for two months and will be ready come Mid April to upset some heavy favs.

The Hawks and Flames are also prime for first round exits......

howdy coaster!

All about "if the sisters show up"?
They are notorious for dying when the playoffs start.

I feel the opposite, I think the sharks pose much bigger worries if they're healthy than the wings. Champs are never going to be easy but the form Osgoods shown this season is nowhere near what he delivered last year, if he plays like he has been the wings are vulnerable. If they draw the ducks in the first I could see them in trouble early. I'd much rather the canucks play the wings than a healthy sharks team.

SJ in not a playoff team, no matter how well sj plays in regular season they choke comes playoff time. on the other hand det is a fine tune machine when det has to turn up a notch they do, yes goaltending might pose a problem but if det steps up llike im expecting them to it willl be hard for any team to dispose of the wings

ur so off base its rediculous, try considering first off that if we finish with the pres trophy, we can take detroit, i dont care if it takes till game 7, we will beat them in HP tey will beat us in joe louis, if we get 4 at home, we got them

i dont know how you can say we're not a playoff team, we beat calgary last year (ya they suck) and lost to the stars who play great against everytime cuz modano and turco hate us, guarenteed if we get home advantage we can beat detroit, just wait and see the sharks will b healthy by playoff time, and it seems strange to me that we're still winning yet we're missing 9 players? whats that mean when they come back and dont use 2 ahl lines?

sorry for the disrespectful tone, but being a sharks fan and u saying we're not a playoff team yet is repulsive to me, wow we're like a 15 year old team and have made the playoffs like 8 of those, sorry for our post season woes the past season but yano a key to the playoffs is always EXPERIENCE

but id rather have canucks play them first before us ;)
