If they finish first in the division they play StLou, Ana, or worse the Jackets.
All three hotter than electonics bought in a mall parking lot!

Better to face the slumping Hawks.

How to do it without making it obvious................
They lost to the worst team in the West(Lanche) at home, so it could be done.
They play them in Colorado to finish up.

But........just maybe......Calgary has the same idea too.
Drop two to arch rival Oilers...............
If I was either coach and had a pick it would be HAWKS!

Food for thought.

Absolutely.

only problem is the Hawks and Khabibulin are really starting to heat up of late. They had won 4 in a row before losing in a shootout tonight to the BlueJackets. As far as entertainment goes I would like to see Vancouver /Chicago because they are a good young team that are exciting to watch, hopefully too young right now. Teams 1-8 are all really solid, not really any gimme series in the west, Anaheim can really cause some damage in the #7 or 8 slot.

No doubt.

Your a homer and nothing wrong with that.......who do you think they have the best chance with???

I'd pick Hawks......my opinion, if I had a futures bet.
I don't.
Who do you like facing off with the hometown boyz??

2nd round exit at best........I hope I'm wrong cuz I like the town when it rocks hockey.

If the Canucks win the NW, they get third spot meaning their play either Columbus or Anaheim. Both of those teams are scary. Ducks aren't the same team that won the cup but they still have Perry, Getzlaf, Pronger and Niedemeyer and have been very hot lately. Blue Jackets have a great goalie and Ken Hitchcocks teams always play very tight defensively. I think we have a better chance against Chicago whose very talented up front but they don't have much experience and I'm not that keen on Chicago's goaltending. So I hate to say this but lose the last two games Vancouver...

Mason has let in 3+ goals in 14 of his last 22 starts. I think this is a case of the hype taking over. The guy is a rookie goalie who is either slowing down due to the length of the season, or who is coming back down to earth. I would much rather face him than a Stanley Cup winner like Khabibulin. IMO.

I calculate Mason has given up 30 regulation time goals
in his last 14 games, or 2.14 GAA. Khabi is 2.50 over the
last 12.

The only team Vancouver does not want to face is Anaheim. No one does. With Francois Beauchemin back Anaheim's top 4 is Pronger, Neidermayer, Beauchemin and Ryan Whitney. Bobby Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Teemu Salanne on the front end. With their size, physicality, experience, blend of youth and veterans this team is no joke. Even if you get past them, it'll be 7 games of hell.

St Louis won't get 6th place otherwise it'd be in Vancouver's best interests to win the division.

Canucks should tank it and take a much less physical road to the second round through Chicago.

I think your English is fine.
How is Ljubljana this time of year??

The title of the post sez "what I think they should do" not what they are doing.
It is tough to tell a team to go out and lose.
