maybe I've being a selfish fan here who loves to watch as much football as possible but here's an idea i'd like to see considered or at least discussed: why not make overtime an 8 minute quarter that has to be played fully. then if the game is still tied, play another 8 minute quarter. if it's still tied, then and only then, play a "timeless" (of course there will still be a play clock - just no game clock), legit sudden death where the next score wins the game.

If the Refs were not crooked the colts would have gotten the ball back.

its really not that bad... a good defensive series by the colts then allows them to great field position by a punt. The defense killed themselves with all those penalties.

Sort of like NBA OT. Not a bad idea.

If the Colts D steps up then there's no issue. Imagine if you're a Ravens fan, you'd rather have your D on the field in OT.

Because it keeps the players on the field too much and the players union won't go for that.

Not a bad idea.

I think the best idea for a rule change would be the 1st team to score 4 points wins! It would force offenses to actually try for a TD after winning the toss.

how often do you see a team decline possession?

i would poll the players and coaches about this first before assuming the NFLPA would make the players' minds up for them. im sure enough players have felt the pain of an overtime loss and they would want to see the overtime rules changed.
