just picked up a copy of the Penn State student newspaper for today. Page 2 of the sports section has a half-page ad for betgameday.

It says "$200 free" (on deposit) and "FREE BEER" (apparently they have a "beer for the bowl games" contest)

I am totally shocked that they ran this. Usually the paper is real PC, won't even run stories on alcohol, gambling, etc...

I wonder how many Penn State students just got sucked into betgameday??

A better question: I wonder why everyone isn't advertising in college newspapers??

maybe they should offer players and coaches a special bonus when they bet against their team!

One of the college newspaper's (can't recall which) caused a rukus this summer when they ran an ad with a free lap-dance coupon from a local strip club. For $200 of college-kid money they should offer the beer, the bonus and a lap-dance for good measure.

Surprised we don't hear more of this sort of advertising actually. I had 10 credit cards and no job when I left college.
