I think he's actually trying to run to the right of John McCain.

I wonder how extreme lefties must feel, their candidate moves to the Right while McCain tries to move further right. Who is going to be the most Right by November?

Obama - 130
McCain + 110

Looks like nobody thinks they can win from out in left field

Anyhow, if BO does win in November, it can no longer be viewed as a repudiation of Bush's policies. If Obama wins, it's officially an endorsement of Bush policies.

The left vote is a slam dunk, so he might as well concentrate on winning the election.

He needs the middle to win the election.

eekster, everybody needs the center to win.

he's going after more and more right wingers with every policy speech he makes.

It's also conceivable that he "de-motivates" his left wing base to some extent.
Maybe those kids will stay home after all. What's the difference, eh?

It's not too big a risk to be "against third trimester abortions" since they are so rare in the first place.

And meanwhile, the few laws criminalizing such procedures have either been dunked by the courts as unconstitutional (see Virginia as most recent) or not enforced (the federal ban) versus those women who elect to undergo such a procedure.

You have to get into the Whitehouse before you can change things. Do anything you can do to get there.

This from a guy who just said (in another thread) that it's OK to go ahead and vote for McCain because he wont be able to do away with college sports gambling even when he tries.

you think that's the same?

you think the issue you referenced is an important issue to anybody? I never even heard of it.

Finally, what does that have to do with being yourself or not anyways? Maybe John McCain thinks gambling on college athletes is a bad idea, maybe he is being himself.

Then why should I ignore it and vote for someone who would do away with one of my favorite things?

willie99, if mccain becomes president, sites like this won't exist anymore. he's basically going to tell you what to view and how you spend your money. gambling related or not, i don't want someone telling me what i can or can't do with my money. and i find it hypocritcal of him telling me what is immoral and what i can/cant spend my money on when he's out in vegas blowing hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Did I say that?

You should value what ever issues are important to you, and vote accordingly.

Suffice to say, I disagree with the premise of your argument, making everything else irrelevant.

sometimes, you have to spend so much time redirecting idiotic BS around here that you lose site of the topic.

So why can't BO just be himself again?

I'm still waiting for you to back up your allegations. If you can't back them up, then don't make them.

BTW: that would also make "YOU" the liar. I would prefer to simply say you're wrong, but this is another path "YOU" choose.

PS: help me Doc, help help me doc, help me make these big bad neocons go away
