Welcome back all....

Based on their schedule I give ND losses to Mich (home) and Tennessee and Souther Cal on the road... that means for me to lose this play ND would have to win seven out of their eight remaining games (BYU, Mich St, Navy all away and Washington, Purdue, Stanford, Boston COllege and Pittsburg at home)... does anyone think they can do that? Their opening run during Willinham's first year in 2002 was the luckiest string of games I have ever witnesses in college football... after that turnover blessed run they won three out of twelve against winning programs... this year they face a decent string of last year's bowl teams.... in my opinion even Navy away will be a close match...

Someone tell me the cons here?

Most of my sides will come after a couple of weeks of watching...

Good luck to all... and let's help each other make some money.

At a quick first look, I thought ND could be as bad as 2-9. After looking further into available talent on ND and opponents, I can see 5-7. ND should beat Stan, Pitt, Wash, and Navy easily. Byu could keep it close strictly on defense, but if you can't score, you can't win. Of course Navy has a history of excelling against ND even with obvious talent difference.
Bad losses should be vs Mich, USC and Tn. Not sold on Tn's prowess as their program seems to be fading with Fullmer. Close losses to MSU and BC and a possible blow out loss to PU. PU's HC Tiller was a madman offensive threat when with Wyoming and may need to be that way TY with their huge losses on the defensive side. I really think ND will handle BYU again this weekend as I know the old saying that defense wins championships, but I am a believer in a team needs an offense to win and BYU has none. ND's should be improved with a more experienced OL and returning QB at least against their weaker opponents.

Not to be a homer but why can't ND beat Michigan. They are playing with major revenge from last year (37-0 loss). This game is usually a close low-scoring game. Michigan has had special-teams problems in the past. Don't forget they have to replace Navarre and Perry in the backfield. I was thinking 7-4 with a chance of 8-3 tops. Not many on the Irish bandwagon which is how I like it.

I have to admit, I am not the first in line to come to ND's defense,

But I actually see them winning some of their harder games, and I see the true style of the new coach to come out this year. I see them tossing this ball a lot more, and I think that makes them competetive.

Yes, Mich v ND used to be tight games, but talent levels were closer. Mich's biggest drawback is it's HC. Carr is always an accident waiting to happen. He named Guiterrez or whatever the starter and he is awful. Mich has great WR's so I think Stevie Wonder could hit them. Ty Will has flubbed again in getting a late start in recruiting and no way has he filled the holes. RB Grant is back but he's not a breakaway guy and Willy completely misused J Jones last year. What's to say he will get it together this year? He won games in the weak Pac 10. That does not transfer to wins against ND's opponents. MSU, BC and Pu may be little weaker this year, so they might eke out a win against them. 6-7 wins could happen, and I hope it does so they get in a bowl game and I can bet the house against them. That would be Bowl Game of the Year bet. This not a strong Irish team by no means. Ty Will is already relying on positive attitudes to win games. Sorry, but positive talent will always overcome positive thinking. Remember Willy was no more than a 3rd choice for HC and that speaks volumes considering ND is a down program.
