Notre Dame is still a terrible team

Maybe as bad as last year.

UCSD had them on the ropes all game long. The final score 21-13 does not tell the real story. SDSt. led for most of the game. ND was only 3-12 on 3rd downs. Other than that, it was very close statistically but a late turnover killed the Aztecs drive and subsequent penalties lead to a revived ND drive late in the game and a score locking up the Irish win.

You guys may not realize how bad SDSt. really is. The Cal Poly SLO Mustangs (D1-AA) beat them last week 29-27.

San Diego State coach Chuck Long was asked after giving Notre Dame a scare who was better, the Fighting Irish or Cal Poly, which beat the Aztecs a week earlier. "That's a tough question," Long said, chuckling a bit at the question. "It's hard to say who's better. They both beat us."

So the real question is... Could Cal Poly SLO beat Notre Dame?

That's a tough call.

michigan played a very good utah team and barely lost.
they followed that up with a close win against a decent MOH team.
granted this team has to travel to NDame, but holy schmoly NDame still looks a hot mess.
