Was talking to a friend of mine today and it was brought up

Says there's this guy in Manhattan ( NYC ) and he's Black.

Never heard or met a bookie of color.

Again, I'm not being racist .... because in all my years in and around the business, i have never dealt with one.

Used one bookie for over twenty years. White guy. We never had a problem. When he retired I started using offshore accounts.

It would be more like all straight bets are +100 and the bookie still goes out of business because he can't collect from anyone

I know of a black guy bookie in Miami. He's got quite a few nfl players as clients

Never met a true bookie that was black, but almost every parlay card service around here is fed through the blacks and the barbershops.

I do know of a Laotian bookie, though.

Yeah I knew one or two Stage guys ... but I think one wasn't African American, just very dark skin

the guys taking care of lines and where the money is going, they dont take bets from customers, except maybe a couple VIP's or some wise guys who might have diff lines than the "recreational" bettors
