I have been pretty successful pickinig his 5*'s and 4* NFL games of the month.

Tomorrows play will come from one of these four games. Play them now if you like them as they will move 2-4 pts when his pick comes out at 10:00 cst.

In order of guess.

1) Tex Tech -6.5 (he's picking them by 20 in his wriite up section)
2) ND -4.5 (his write up has them by 17)
3) Mich St -7 (has them by 17
4) Washington -17.5, (has them by 28)

Any other opinions?

TTech just tooooooooo tough at HOME against a mediocore NU squad at best...NU tough on "D" but certainly no tougher than OU at home and TTech scored on the Sooners....so should hold the Great :bowl: (gimme a break) NU "west coast in the MIdwest" offense in check and ezily outscore the Cornholers...IMO..GL

it would be very unlikely for steele to release a 5* on a double digit favorite like Washington...substitute penn state.

i read his letter once in a while for trends but to be honest not his picks. if u look at this weeks it is obvious that the game is penn state. no doubt. +10.5 and has them winning by a FG. even the way he talks about the game. i think they do a good job with the letter, a lot of good info but his selections are average.

North Coast Plays Record: got this from another site listing it...

NCAA (Combined Rec: 20-20,....5* 1-0, 4* 2-4, 3.5* 3-7, 3* 14-9, 2* OP 7-7): Opinion UNLV Runnin Rebels

NFL (Combined Rec: 5-8,....4* 0-1, 3.5* 1-1, 3* 3-3, 2* 1-3):

I also use his newsletters for their stats and trends only...some good info there....His Sept 5* won and I think it was on Iowa St if I am not mistaken....Hmmm, I still remember him releasing Wisky as his 5* GOM selection many times in the past....This could be a spot for them again....with their top ranked Defense against Ohio St's poor Offense...plus Wisky has its Key player back with RB Davis...so it could be his selection...Big possibility and favorable situation favoring Wisky this week..IMO...What do you guys think of Wisky being his 5*?:ughhh:

no offense to phil, but there are many cappers on this site that who i trust a lot more with a 5* play - relatively speeking - than northcoast

co-cap is right - last month's 5* winner was iowa state -- i was on them too and i have to admit they were fortunate to cover - nonetheless MG, i like all the games you pinpointed.

good luck this weekend

Neyland - I agree it would be unlike him to post a big favorite like that as a 5*

Capt - I'm a little leary of those stats on NC's picks as I've seen the same numbers on other forums. The reason for my doubt is his 3*'s in college typically suck, in fact two weeks ago they went 0-2or3 and His top plays in NFL are always 3.5*'s unless it's a GOM 4* and they only have 3 of those combined and this is week 5 coming up. None the less I agree there are better cappers here than NC but he does usually do well on his big plays. Wiscy is a tough one for me as I can see O St def stopping them and a bounce back from O St after last weeks loss.

Time will tell.

MG ...I really cant confirm this record, as I dont use his services....I do read his newsletters when he sends them to me, but that is as far as I go....I only got this info from another site that seems to only post Service plays and tracks them....and this is what they posted on him for the year so far....I still think it could be Wisky...as they have the matchup and situational edges, especially catching Ohio St off that upset...RB Davis seems to also not be missing a beat...and Wisky is a dog...JMO.

I'm sure like all of you, I've been following Northcoast for the last five years or so and their college STINKS overall!! They might have a few good plays here and there, but overall he SUCKS!! NFL is another story as I think that's his bread and butter. I'll consider his NFL, but college I'll pass......

I am with Neyland and ProphetablePicks on this one. I have followed Phil for years and know his style. I believe the play is Penn State. I am not a big fan of Phil overall, however if you put $5000 each on his 10-11 big plays a year ( 5*college & 4* NFL). You would have made money in each of the last gazzilion years. You are likely to see 7 or 8 out of 10, a few years you may even see a little better. There has been one year out of the last 20 where you would have lost and that would have just been juice.

Now keep in mind i am talking about the GOM only, not his weekly stuff. I am also sure that there are several other guys out there whom if you used only their top plays you would do fine also. I would not endorse Northcoast as a whole, but if you have the bankroll and play the top plays only, you should do well.

This year 1-1

Sept 18 Iowa St - 3.5 vs No Illinois Winner 48-41 (you could certainly argue he got lucky on that one)

Sept 26 Vikings -10 vs Bears Loser 27-22 (not like him to play double digit favorite in NFL........especially GOM)

Good Luck!

What is the play? I'm guessing Ttech line jumped from 7 to 8 pretty quickly.
