Lords voted by 222 to 197 for the amendment to Children and Families Bill

Smoking in a car that is carrying children could be banned within days after the Lords threw its weight behind a controversial plan to outlaw the practice.
Peers last night unexpectedly backed the Labour move, which would give ministers the power to make it a criminal offence in England, punishable by a fine or points on a motorist’s licence.
The Government had argued this would be very difficult to enforce, and might risk infringing on civil liberties. They favour an awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of smoking around children.

Controversial: Anyone caught allowing smoking in a car carrying children would be fined £60 under Labour plans to be voted on in the House of Lords

how did families survive without politicians?

another tax, another crime, more bureaucracy a win win win for some people

I have no desire to raise other peoples' children, I have no desire to control other peoples' lives, it's hard enough taking care of my own

and politicians are the dumbest people on earth for actually thinking they can legislate utopia, hence I don't want them doing any of the above either.

can't wait for it to be illegal to take kids to the beach or allow them to play in the sun

how about banning pools?

or swing sets?

those things are really really dangerous, I think they should have a mandatory educational class for families wanting to own swing sets, then make them obtain a permit which they're required to renew every year. Of course, there needs to be a user fee of say $ 50 per year to pay for the costs of educating the public

c'mon libtard nation, hop hop

We would just ask my parents to crack the window open or we'd crack ours....Most of the time they did without being asked anyway..
