After looking at the rankings, I'm not so sure....they got a long way to go in 2 of the 3 polls (currently 7th) LSU is probably going to leapfrog Georgia in the Harris Poll, which will put them at #2 in that poll. But they will have to leapfrog 3 teams in the USA today poll to get to #2, which of course is entirely possible. But even if they leapfrog those teams, the margin by which they go will only be percentage points above the teams they leapfrog.

I think their biggest hurdle is the computer polls. They are currently 7th, so they probably go to 5. They will get a SOS bump for beating Tennessee, but V tech will get a bigger bump because they beat a higher ranked team, so they can't leap V-tech in the computers. It is debatable that they will leapfrog Georgia or Kansas in that poll, put possible.

We also don't know where Mizzou and WV will be slotted after they're losses...

It will be hilarious if LSU doesn't make it because the computers rank V-tech ahead of LSU, even though they beat that ass pretty bad.

Georgia is still in the best position, but there is an easy argument here for them to get leapfrogged in the human polls.

I think it's really going to come down to the computers. And as I look at it, I think Georgia eeks the #2 slot.

Hopefully it's LSU and OSU. I want OSU to win the title. If they play UGA they would lose.

the thing is, the voters know and can adjust to everything you've said. the computers wont adjust due to anything. we can guess what the computers will say, the humans can project that, and then they can adjust and move teams up. you win the sec and you smash vt, you go ahead of someone who won the horrible acc and got rocked vs the sec champs. people know lsu won the sec title and uga wasnt even in it....they also know that uga went into this week ranked ahead of lsu, so they will adjust their votes. thats my opinion. lsu has a lot of work to do before that game, but thats who i think goes. lsu isnt better than osu right now, but if you give them a month and a title to play for...they'll beat osu and be the 2008 national champs.
imo
