Every time I read something like this................the line was ridiculous.........its apparent that most people have no clue how lines are made.
The line is exactly where it should be. Its your job as a handicapper to determine whether or not there is value on one side or the other.
Now if you say, I LOVE Ohio St at that price then great.

It's almost as ridiculous as the Carolina/Dallas line as I stated in my NFL thread. Your going a bit to far if your trying to figure out the meaning behind the word "Rediculous". To put it a little more specific for you the posted line of Ohio State -1 was REDICULOUS. Of course I saw tremendous value otherwise I wouldn't have played the Buckeyes. That should be obvious to you. As the thread title suggests, this game took me about 2 seconds to realize the value in the line with no handicapping of the game.

lol. So your saying the line was correct? I'm always relaxed but for you to tell me I'm wrong for thinking the line was incorrect at Ohio State -1 and you think it was correct is kinda funny. What gives you the credentials to say the line was correct sir? I have been looking at lines for a very long time, thousands of lines, and I know a bad line when I see one. Let me put it in a different way. Ohio State -1 was a gift and it took me 1 second to look at the line to realize that. Good luck to you.

They don't make lines based on who they think will win by now much. They put them out based on power rating comparisons and a few other factors (injuries, weather, etc..). Theoretically, that is how you get balanced action. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. Sometimes the public wins, sometimes they don't.
The difference in power rating was 1 point for Ohio St when adjusted for home field. That is why the line is correct from a line makers perspective. There were many that played Michigan.
From a handicappers perspective? Well, that's why people bet. Its up to each person to determine if the game has value for them. You found value on OSU, others on Michigan.
If the score hold, the line wasn't incorrect. Those picking Michigan were incorrect.

GL to you also. As you know the books are wrong with lines quite often. My point is they were wrong on this game so I guess we can just agree to disagree. GL the rest of the day. I will post a "No Handicapping Required" play in the NFL tomorrow with another line the books are completely wrong with, IMO.
